☞잠3:1 내 아들아, 나의 법을 잊지 말고 나의 계명들을 네 마음에 간직하라.
My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments：
☞잠3:2 그리하면 그것들이 네 날들을 길게 하고 장수하는 것과 화평을 네게 더하리라.
For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
☞잠3:3 자비와 진리가 너에게서 떠나지 않도록 그것들을 네 목에 걸며 네 마음판에 새기라.
Let not mercy and truth forsake thee： bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart：
☞잠3:4 그리하면 네가 하나님과 사람의 목전에서 은총과 인정을 받으리라.
So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
☞잠3:5 네 마음을 다하여 주를 신뢰하고, 네 자신의 명철을 의지하지 말라.
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
☞잠3:6 모든 길에서 그를 인정하라. 그리하면 그가 네 길들을 지도하시리라.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
☞잠3:7 네 자신의 눈에 현명하게 되지 말라. 주를 두려워하고 악에서 떠나라.
Be not wise in thine own eyes： fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
☞잠3:8 그것이 네 몸에 건강이 되며 네 뼈에 골수가 되리라.
It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
☞잠3:9 네 재물과 네 모든 소산물의 첫 열매로 주를 공경하라.
Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase：
☞잠3:10 그리하면 네 창고가 가득 차고 네 포도즙틀에서는 새 포도주가 넘치리라.
So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
☞잠3:11 내 아들아, 주의 징계를 멸시하지 말고 그의 나무라심을 싫어하지 말라.
My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction：
☞잠3:12 이는 주께서 사랑하시는 자를 꾸짖으시기를 마치 아버지가 기뻐하는 아들에게 하는 것같이 하심이라.
For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
☞잠3:13 지혜를 찾는 자와 명철을 얻는 자는 복이 있나니
Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
☞잠3:14 이는 지혜를 얻는 것이 은을 얻는 것보다 낫고 그 유익이 정금보다 더 나음이라.
For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
☞잠3:15 지혜는 루비보다 귀하나니, 네가 바랄 수 있는 모든 것으로도 이것과 비교할 수 없느니라.
She is more precious than rubies： and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
☞잠3:16 지혜의 오른손에는 장수가 있고 그 왼손에는 부귀와 명예가 있나니
Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.
☞잠3:17 그 길들은 즐거움의 길들이요 그 모든 행로는 화평이니라.
Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
☞잠3:18 지혜는 그것을 얻는 자에게 생명의 나무니, 그것을 지니는 자는 행복하니라.
She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her： and happy is every one that retaineth her.
☞잠3:19 주께서는 지혜로 땅의 기초를 두셨으며, 명철로 하늘들을 세우셨고
The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.
☞잠3:20 그의 지식으로 깊은 곳들이 쪼개졌으며, 구름들이 이슬을 내리는도다.
By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.
☞잠3:21 내 아들아, 건전한 지혜와 분별력을 지켜 그것들이 네 눈에서 떠나지 않게 하라.
My son, let not them depart from thine eyes： keep sound wisdom and discretion：
☞잠3:22 그것들이 네 혼에 생명이 되며 네 목에 은혜가 되리니
So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
☞잠3:23 그리하면 네가 네 길에서 안전하게 행하며, 네 발이 걸려 넘어지지 아니할 것이요,
Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.
☞잠3:24 네가 누울 때에 두려워하지 아니하리니, 정녕, 네가 누울 것이요 네 잠은 달리로다.
When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid： yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
☞잠3:25 너는 갑작스런 두려움이나 악인의 멸망이 닥칠 때 두려워하지 말지니
Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
☞잠3:26 이는 주께서 너의 신뢰가 되시어 네 발이 넘어지지 않게 지켜 주실 것임이라.
For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
☞잠3:27 선을 베푸는 것이 네 손의 권세에 있을때, 마땅히 받을 자들에게 베풀기를 아끼지 말라.
Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
☞잠3:28 네가 가진 것이 있거든 이웃에게 "갔다가 다시 오라. 내일 주겠노라." 말하지 말라.
Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.
☞잠3:29 네 이웃이 네 곁에서 안전하게 거하는 것을 볼 때에, 그를 모함하지 말라.
Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.
☞잠3:30 사람이 너를 해치지 아니하였으면 까닭없이 그와 다투지 말라.
Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.
☞잠3:31 너는 압제자를 부러워하지 말며 그의 길에서 아무것도 취하지 말라.
Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.
☞잠3:32 이는 마음이 비뚤어진 자는 주께 가증하나, 주의 은밀하심은 의로운 자와 함께 있음이라.
For the froward is abomination to the LORD： but his secret is with the righteous.
☞잠3:33 악인의 집에는 주의 저주가 있으나, 의인의 처소에는 주께서 복을 주시는도다.
The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked： but he blesseth the habitation of the just.
☞잠3:34 진실로 그는 비웃는 자를 비웃으시나, 겸손한 자에게 는 은혜를 베푸시느니라.
Surely he scorneth the scorners： but he giveth grace unto the lowly.
☞잠3:35 현명한 자는 영광을 유업으로 받을 것이나, 어리석은 자가 높임을 받는 것은 수치가 될 것이니라.
The wise shall inherit glory： but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
