| ☞잠11:1 | 속이는 저울은 주께 가증한 것이나, 공정한 추는 그의 기쁨이니라. A false balance is abomination to the LORD： but a just weight is his delight. | |||
| ☞잠11:2 | 교만이 오면 수치도 오지만 지혜는 겸손한 자와 더불어 있느니라. When pride cometh, then cometh shame： but with the lowly is wisdom. | |||
| ☞잠11:3 | 정직한 자들의 성실은 그들을 인도할 것이나, 범죄자들의 패역은 그들을 멸망시키리라. The integrity of the upright shall guide them： but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them. | |||
| ☞잠11:4 | 재물은 진노의 날에 유익하지 않으나, 의는 죽음에서 구해 내느니라. Riches profit not in the day of wrath： but righteousness delivereth from death. | |||
| ☞잠11:5 | 완전한 자의 의는 그의 길을 바르게 할 것이나, 악인은 자신의 악으로 인하여 넘어지리라. The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way： but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness. | |||
| ☞잠11:6 | 정직한 자들의 의는 그들을 구할 것이나, 범죄자들은 자기들의 악에 붙잡히리라. The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them： but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness. | |||
| ☞잠11:7 | 악한 사람이 죽을 때 그의 기대는 멸망할 것이요, 불의한 자들의 소망은 멸망하느니라. When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish： and the hope of unjust men perisheth. | |||
| ☞잠11:8 | 의로운 자는 고난에서 구원되고 악인이 그를 대신하여 오느니라. The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead. | |||
| ☞잠11:9 | 위선자는 자기 입으로 이웃을 망하게 하나, 의인은 지식으로 구원을 받으리라. An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour： but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. | |||
| ☞잠11:10 | 의로운 자가 잘되면 성읍이 즐거워하며, 악인이 패망하면 외침이 있느니라. When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth： and when the wicked perish, there is shouting. | |||
| ☞잠11:11 | 성읍은 정직한 자의 축복으로 존귀하게 되고 악인의 입으로 무너지느니라. By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted： but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked. | |||
| ☞잠11:12 | 지혜가 없는 자는 자기 이웃을 멸시하나, 명철한 사람은 잠잠하느니라. He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour： but a man of understanding holdeth his peace. | |||
| ☞잠11:13 | 험담하는 자는 비밀을 누설하나, 신실한 영을 가진 자는 말을 숨기느니라. A talebearer revealeth secrets： but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter. | |||
| ☞잠11:14 | 의논이 없으면 백성이 망하나, 의논자가 많으면 안전하니라. Where no counsel is, the people fall： but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety. | |||
| ☞잠11:15 | 타국인을 위하여 보증을 서는 자는 피해를 당할 것이나, 보증 서기를 싫어하는 자는 안전하니라. He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it： and he that hateth suretiship is sure. | |||
| ☞잠11:16 | 현숙한 여인은 존귀를 지니며, 강한 남자는 부를 지니느니라. A gracious woman retaineth honour： and strong men retain riches. | |||
| ☞잠11:17 | 자비로운 사람은 자기 혼에 선을 행하나, 잔인한 자는 자기 육체에 해를 끼치느니라. The merciful man doeth good to his own soul： but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh. | |||
| ☞잠11:18 | 악인은 속이는 일을 하나, 의를 뿌리는 자에게는 확실한 상이 있느니라. The wicked worketh a deceitful work： but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward. | |||
| ☞잠11:19 | 의가 생명에 이르는 것같이 악을 추구하는 자는 사망에 이르느니라. As righteousness tendeth to life： so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death. | |||
| ☞잠11:20 | 마음이 비뚤어진 자들은 주께 가증함이 되나, 행위가 정직한 자들은 그의 기쁨이니라. They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the LORD： but such as are upright in their way are his delight. | |||
| ☞잠11:21 | 악인은 손에 손을 잡을지라도 처벌을 면치 못할 것이나, 의로운 자의 씨는 구원을 받으리라. Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished： but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered. | |||
| ☞잠11:22 | 아리따운 여인에게 분별이 없는 것은 마치 돼지 코에 금 고리 같으니라. As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion. | |||
| ☞잠11:23 | 의로운 자의 소망은 선한 것뿐이나 악인의 기대는 진노니라. The desire of the righteous is only good： but the expectation of the wicked is wrath. | |||
| ☞잠11:24 | 재물은 흩을지라도 늘어나나, 지나치게 아끼면 궁핍하게 되느니라. There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. | |||
| ☞잠11:25 | 관대한 자는 풍족하게 되리니, 물을 주는 자는 자기 자신도 물을 받게 되리라. The liberal soul shall be made fat： and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. | |||
| ☞잠11:26 | 곡식을 움키는 자는 백성들이 저주할 것이나, 곡식을 파는 자의 머리 위에는 복이 있으리라. He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him： but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it. | |||
| ☞잠11:27 | 열심히 선을 찾는 자는 은총을 받으나, 악을 찾는 자는 악이 그에게 오리라. He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour： but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him. | |||
| ☞잠11:28 | 자기의 재물을 신뢰하는 자는 넘어질 것이나, 의로운 자는 가지처럼 번성하리라. He that trusteth in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch. | |||
| ☞잠11:29 | 자기의 집에 다툼을 일으키는 자는 바람을 유업으로 받을 것이며, 어리석은 자는 마음이 지혜로운 자의 종이 되리라. He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind： and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart. | |||
| ☞잠11:30 | 의로운 자의 열매는 생명의 나무니, 혼을 이겨오는 자는 현명하니라. The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. | |||
| ☞잠11:31 | 보라, 의로운 자도 땅에서 보응을 받게 되리니, 악인과 죄인은 훨씬 더하리라. Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth： much more the wicked and the sinner. | |||
