| ☞잠21:1 | 왕의 마음이 주의 손 안에 있음이 마치 강의 물 같으니, 그가 원하시는 곳이면 어디로라도 그것을 돌이키시느니라. The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water： he turneth it whithersoever he will. | |||
| ☞잠21:2 | 사람의 모든 행위가 자신의 눈에는 옳으나, 주께서는 마음들을 감찰하시느니라. Every way of a man is right in his own eyes： but the LORD pondereth the hearts. | |||
| ☞잠21:3 | 정의와 심판을 행하는 것이 희생제보다 주를 더 기쁘시게 하느니라. To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice. | |||
| ☞잠21:4 | 높은 눈과 교만한 마음과 악인의 쟁기질은 죄니라. An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin. | |||
| ☞잠21:5 | 부지런한 자의 계획은 풍부함에 이르나, 조급한 자는 누구나 궁핍함에 이를 뿐이니라. The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want. | |||
| ☞잠21:6 | 거짓말하는 혀로 재물을 얻는 것은 죽음을 찾아다니는 자들에 의해 이리저리 흔들리는 헛된 것이니라. The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death. | |||
| ☞잠21:7 | 악인의 약탈은 자신들을 멸망시키리니, 이는 그들이 공의 행하기를 거역함이라. The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment. | |||
| ☞잠21:8 | 사람의 길은 비뚤어지고 낯설지만, 순결한 자로 말하면, 그의 행위는 옳으니라. The way of man is froward and strange： but as for the pure, his work is right. | |||
| ☞잠21:9 | 다투는 여자와 함께 넒은 집에서 사는 것보다 지붕의 한 모퉁이에서 사는 것이 더 나으니라. It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house. | |||
| ☞잠21:10 | 악인의 혼은 악을 바라나니, 그의 이웃도 그의 눈 앞에서 호의를 입지 못하느니라. The soul of the wicked desireth evil： his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes. | |||
| ☞잠21:11 | 조롱하는 자가 벌을 받으면 우매한 자는 현명하게 되고, 현명한 자가 훈계를 받으면 그는 지식을 얻느니라. When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise： and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge. | |||
| ☞잠21:12 | 의로운 사람은 악인들의 집을 현명하게 숙고하나, 하나님께서는 그들의 악함을 인하여 악인들을 넘어뜨리시느니라. The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked： but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness. | |||
| ☞잠21:13 | 가난한 자의 부르짖음에 귀를 막는 자는 누구라도 그 자신도 부르짖게 될 것이나 들을 자가 없으리라. Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard. | |||
| ☞잠21:14 | 은밀한 선물은 화를 가라앉히고 품 안에 있는 뇌물은 강한 진노를 그치게 하느니라. A gift in secret pacifieth anger： and a reward in the bosom strong wrath. | |||
| ☞잠21:15 | 공의를 행하는 것이 의인에게는 기쁨이나, 죄악을 행하는 자들에게는 멸망이 있으리라. It is joy to the just to do judgment： but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. | |||
| ☞잠21:16 | 명철의 길을 떠나 방황하는 사람은 죽은 자들의 회중에 남으리라. The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead. | |||
| ☞잠21:17 | 쾌락을 좋아하는 자는 가난하게 되고 술과 기름을 좋아하는 자도 부하게 되지 못하리라. He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man： he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich. | |||
| ☞잠21:18 | 악인은 의로운 자를 위한 몸값이 될 것이요, 범죄자는 정직한 자의 몸값이 되리라. The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright. | |||
| ☞잠21:19 | 다투고 성내는 여자와 함께 사는 것보다 광야에서 사는 것이 더 나으니라. It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman. | |||
| ☞잠21:20 | 현명한 자의 처소에는 귀한 보물과 기름이 있으나, 어리석은 사람은 그것을 다 삼켜 버리느니라. There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up. | |||
| ☞잠21:21 | 의와 자비를 따르는 자는 생명과 의와 명예를 얻느니라. He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour. | |||
| ☞잠21:22 | 현명한 사람은 용사의 성읍에 올라가서 그 의지하는 힘을 무너뜨리느니라. A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof. | |||
| ☞잠21:23 | 자기 입과 자기 혀를 지키는 자는 누구나 고난에서 자기 혼을 지키느니라. Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles. | |||
| ☞잠21:24 | 교만하고 거만한 자를 가리켜 조롱하는 자라 하나니, 그는 교만한 진노 가운데 행하느니라. Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath. | |||
| ☞잠21:25 | 게으른 자의 욕망이 그를 죽이나니, 이는 그의 손이 수고하기를 싫어함이라. The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour. | |||
| ☞잠21:26 | 그는 온종일 욕심만 부리나, 의로운 자는 아끼지 않고 베푸느니라. He coveteth greedily all the day long： but the righteous giveth and spareth not. | |||
| ☞잠21:27 | 악인의 희생제는 가증한 것이거늘 하물며 악한 마음으로 그것을 가져오는 것이야 더욱 악하지 않겠느냐? The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination： how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind? | |||
| ☞잠21:28 | 거짓 증인은 패망할 것이나, 듣는 사람은 끊임없이 말하느니라. A false witness shall perish： but the man that heareth speaketh constantly. | |||
| ☞잠21:29 | 악한 사람은 그의 얼굴을 굳게 하나, 정직한 자는 자기 길을 곧게 하느니라. A wicked man hardeneth his face： but as for the upright, he directeth his way. | |||
| ☞잠21:30 | 어떠한 지혜나 명철이나 도모도 주를 대적할 수 없느니라. There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD. | |||
| ☞잠21:31 | 전쟁의 날을 위하여 말이 예비되어도, 구원은 주께 속한 것이니라. The horse is prepared against the day of battle： but safety is of the LORD. | |||
