| ☞잠12:1 | 훈계를 사랑하는 자마다 지식을 사랑하나, 책망을 싫어하는 자는 짐승과 같으니라. Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge： but he that hateth reproof is brutish. | |||
| ☞잠12:2 | 선한 사람은 주의 은총을 받으나, 악을 꾀하는 사람은 주께서 정죄하시리라. A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD： but a man of wicked devices will he condemn. | |||
| ☞잠12:3 | 사람이 악으로는 굳게 서지 못할 것이나, 의로운 자의 뿌리는 요동치 아니하리라. A man shall not be established by wickedness： but the root of the righteous shall not be moved. | |||
| ☞잠12:4 | 덕 있는 여인은 남편에게 면류관이나, 수치를 끼치는 여인은 그의 뼈를 썩게 함과 같으니라. A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband： but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones. | |||
| ☞잠12:5 | 의로운 자의 생각들은 옳으나, 악인의 조언들은 속이는 것이니라. The thoughts of the righteous are right： but the counsels of the wicked are deceit. | |||
| ☞잠12:6 | 악인의 말은 피흘림을 위하여 엎드려 기다리자는 것이나, 정직한 자의 입은 사람들을 구할 것이라. The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood： but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them. | |||
| ☞잠12:7 | 악인은 멸절되어 더이상 존재하지 아니하나, 의로운 자의 집은 서 있으리라. The wicked are overthrown, and are not： but the house of the righteous shall stand. | |||
| ☞잠12:8 | 사람은 자기의 지혜대로 칭찬을 받을 것이나, 패역한 마음을 가진 자는 멸시를 받으리라. A man shall be commended according to his wisdom： but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised. | |||
| ☞잠12:9 | 멸시를 받을지라도 종을 거느리는 자는, 스스로 존귀한 체하면서도 양식이 부족한 자보다 나으니라. He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread. | |||
| ☞잠12:10 | 의로운 사람은 자기 짐승의 생명을 돌보아 주나, 악인의 온유한 자비들은 잔인하니라. A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast： but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. | |||
| ☞잠12:11 | 자기의 토지를 경작하는 자는 빵으로 만족하겠으나, 헛된 사람들을 따르는 자는 명철이 없느니라. He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread： but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding. | |||
| ☞잠12:12 | 악인은 악한 사람들의 이익을 바라나, 의로운 자의 뿌리는 열매를 내느니라. The wicked desireth the net of evil men： but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit. | |||
| ☞잠12:13 | 악인은 입술의 죄과로 올무에 걸리나, 의인은 고난에서 벗어나리라. The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips： but the just shall come out of trouble. | |||
| ☞잠12:14 | 사람은 입의 열매로 인하여 좋은 것으로 만족하겠으나, 사람의 손의 보응은 그에게로 되돌아올 것이라. A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth： and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him. | |||
| ☞잠12:15 | 어리석은 자의 행위가 자신의 눈에는 옳으나, 조언을 듣는 자는 현명하니라. The way of a fool is right in his own eyes： but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise. | |||
| ☞잠12:16 | 어리석은 자의 분노는 즉시 나타나나, 총명한 사람은 치욕을 덮느니라. A fool's wrath is presently known： but a prudent man covereth shame. | |||
| ☞잠12:17 | 진리를 말하는 자는 의를 나타내나, 거짓 증인은 속이느니라. He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness： but a false witness deceit. | |||
| ☞잠12:18 | 칼로 찌르듯이 말하는 것도 있으나, 현명한 자의 혀는 병을 고치느니라. There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword： but the tongue of the wise is health. | |||
| ☞잠12:19 | 진실한 입술은 영원히 설 것이나, 거짓말하는 혀는 순간뿐이니라. The lip of truth shall be established for ever： but a lying tongue is but for a moment. | |||
| ☞잠12:20 | 악을 꾀하는 자의 마음 속에는 기만이 있으나, 화평을 도모하는 자들에게는 기쁨이 있느니라. Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil： but to the counsellors of peace is joy. | |||
| ☞잠12:21 | 의인에게는 아무런 해도 일어나지 아니하려니와, 악인은 해악으로 가득 차리라. There shall no evil happen to the just： but the wicked shall be filled with mischief. | |||
| ☞잠12:22 | 거짓말하는 입술은 주께 가증한 것이나, 진실하게 행하는 자들은 그의 즐거움이니라. Lying lips are abomination to the LORD： but they that deal truly are his delight. | |||
| ☞잠12:23 | 총명한 사람은 지식을 감추어 두나, 어리석은 자의 마음은 어리석음을 선포하느니라. A prudent man concealeth knowledge： but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness. | |||
| ☞잠12:24 | 부지런한 자의 손은 다스릴 것이나, 게으른 자는 공물을 바치게 되리라. The hand of the diligent shall bear rule： but the slothful shall be under tribute. | |||
| ☞잠12:25 | 사람의 마음 속의 근심은 의기소침하게 만드나, 선한 말은 마음을 기쁘게 하느니라. Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop： but a good word maketh it glad. | |||
| ☞잠12:26 | 의로운 자는 자기 이웃보다 훌륭하나, 악인의 행실은 그들을 미혹하느니라. The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour： but the way of the wicked seduceth them. | |||
| ☞잠12:27 | 게으른 사람은 사냥해서 잡은 것을 굽지 아니하나, 부지런한 사람의 재물은 귀중하니라. The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting： but the substance of a diligent man is precious. | |||
| ☞잠12:28 | 의의 길에 생명이 있으니, 그 길에는 사망이 없느니라. In the way of righteousness is life： and in the pathway thereof there is no death. | |||
