| ☞잠24:1 | 너는 악한 사람들을 부러워하지 말며 그들과 함께 있는 것도 바라지 말지어다. Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them. | |||
| ☞잠24:2 | 그들의 마음은 파괴를 계획하며 그들의 입술은 해악을 말하느니라. For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief. | |||
| ☞잠24:3 | 집은 지혜로 지어지고 명철로 견고해지며 Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established： | |||
| ☞잠24:4 | 방들은 지식으로 인하여 모든 진귀하고 즐거운 재물로 가득 차게 되느니라. And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches. | |||
| ☞잠24:5 | 현명한 사람은 강하고, 지식이 있는 사람은 힘을 늘려가느니라. A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength. | |||
| ☞잠24:6 | 현명한 조언으로 싸움을 하라. 조언자가 많아야 안전하니라. For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war： and in multitude of counsellors there is safety. | |||
| ☞잠24:7 | 지혜는 너무 높아서 어리석은 자가 미치지 못하나니, 그는 성문에서 자기 입을 열지 못하느니라. Wisdom is too high for a fool： he openeth not his mouth in the gate. | |||
| ☞잠24:8 | 악을 행하기를 꾀하는 자는 교활한 자라고 불리우리라. He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person. | |||
| ☞잠24:9 | 어리석은 생각은 죄요, 조롱하는 자는 사람들에게 가증함이니라. The thought of foolishness is sin： and the scorner is an abomination to men. | |||
| ☞잠24:10 | 네가 역경의 날에 낙담하면 네 힘은 미약해지느니라. If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. | |||
| ☞잠24:11 | 만일 죽음으로 끌려가는 자들과 살해될 자들을 구해 주는 것을 삼가고 If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; | |||
| ☞잠24:12 | 말하기를 "보라, 우리가 그것을 알지 못하였다." 할지라도, 마음을 감찰하시는 분이 어찌 주시하지 못하시겠으며, 네 혼을 지키시는 분이 어찌 그것을 알지 못하시겠느냐? 그 분께서 각자의 행위에 따라 보응하지 않으시겠느냐? If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works? | |||
| ☞잠24:13 | 내 아들아, 너는 꿀을 먹으라. 그것이 좋기 때문이라. 벌집을 먹으라. 그것이 네 입에 다니라. My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste： | |||
| ☞잠24:14 | 지혜의 지식이 네 혼에 그렇게 좋으리니, 네가 그것을 얻으면 그때에는 상이 있을 것이며 너의 기대가 끊어지지 않을 것이니라. So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul： when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off. | |||
| ☞잠24:15 | 악한 사람아, 의로운 자의 처소를 쓰러뜨리려고 엿보지 말며, 그의 쉬는 곳을 해치지 말라. Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place： | |||
| ☞잠24:16 | 의로운 사람은 일곱 번 넘어져도 다시 일어나나, 악인은 재앙으로 인하여 넘어지리로다. For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again： but the wicked shall fall into mischief. | |||
| ☞잠24:17 | 네 원수가 넘어질 때 기뻐하지 말며 그가 실족할 때 네 마음으로 즐거워하지 말라. Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth： | |||
| ☞잠24:18 | 주께서 그것을 보시고 기뻐하지 아니하사 주의 진노를 그에게서 옮기실까 하노라. Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him. | |||
| ☞잠24:19 | 너는 악한 사람들로 인하여 초조해하지 말고 악인을 부러워하지 말라. Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked： | |||
| ☞잠24:20 | 악한 사람에게는 보상이 없을 것이며, 악인의 촛불은 꺼질 것임이니라. For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out. | |||
| ☞잠24:21 | 내 아들아, 주와 왕을 두려워하라. 거역하는 자들과 사귀지 말라. My son, fear thou the LORD and the king： and meddle not with them that are given to change： | |||
| ☞잠24:22 | 그들의 재난이 갑자기 일어나리니, 그들의 파멸을 누가 알랴? For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both? | |||
| ☞잠24:23 | 이것들이 또한 현명한 자에게 속한 것이니, 판단함에 있어 외모를 존중하는 것은 좋지 아니하니라. These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment. | |||
| ☞잠24:24 | 악인에게 말하기를 "네가 옳다." 하는 자는, 백성이 그를 저주하고 민족들이 그를 미워하리라. He that saith unto the wicked, Thou are righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him： | |||
| ☞잠24:25 | 그러나 그를 꾸짖는 자들에게는 즐거움이 있을 것이요, 또 좋은 복이 그들 위에 임할 것이라. But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them. | |||
| ☞잠24:26 | 바른 대답을 하는 입술에 모든 사람들이 입맞추리라. Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer. | |||
| ☞잠24:27 | 네 일을 밖에서 예비하고, 들에서도 적합하게 일할 수 있게 한 후에 네 집을 세우라. Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house. | |||
| ☞잠24:28 | 너는 까닭없이 네 이웃을 대적하여 증인이 되지 말며 네 입술로 속이지 말라. Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips. | |||
| ☞잠24:29 | 너는 말하기를 "그가 나에게 했던 것처럼 나도 그에게 그렇게 해 주리라. 그가 행한 대로 나도 그 사람에게 갚아 주겠노라." 하지 말라. Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me： I will render to the man according to his work. | |||
| ☞잠24:30 | 내가 게으른 자의 밭과 지각 없는 자의 포도원을 지나갔더니 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding; | |||
| ☞잠24:31 | 보라, 농작물이 온통 가시나무와 더불어 자랐으며, 엉겅퀴가 그 지면을 덮었고, 돌담이 무너졌느니라. And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down. | |||
| ☞잠24:32 | 그때 내가 보고 곰곰히 생각하였으며, 그것을 쳐다보고 교훈을 받았느니라. Then I saw, and considered it well： I looked upon it, and received instruction. | |||
| ☞잠24:33 | 좀더 자자, 좀더 졸자, 손을 모으고 좀더 자자 하면 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep： | |||
| ☞잠24:34 | 네 빈곤이 여행자같이 올 것이요, 네 빈궁이 강도같이 이르리라. So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man. | |||
