| ☞잠22:1 | 선한 이름을 택하는 것이 많은 재물을 택하는 것보다 낫고, 은총을 사랑하는 것이 은과 금을 사랑하는 것보다 나으니라. A GOOD name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold. | |||
| ☞잠22:2 | 부자와 가난한 자가 함께 만나거니와, 그들 모두를 지으신 분은 주시니라. The rich and poor meet together： the LORD is the maker of them all. | |||
| ☞잠22:3 | 총명한 사람은 악을 미리 보고 자신을 숨기나, 우매한 자는 계속 가다가 벌을 받느니라. A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself： but the simple pass on, and are punished. | |||
| ☞잠22:4 | 겸손함과 주를 두려워함으로 말미암아 부와 명예와 생명이 있느니라. By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life. | |||
| ☞잠22:5 | 마음이 비뚤어진 자의 길에는 가시와 덫이 있으나, 혼을 지키는 자는 그것들로부터 멀리 있게 되리라. Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward： he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them. | |||
| ☞잠22:6 | 아이를 그가 마땅히 가야 할 길로 훈육하라. 그리하면 그가 늙어도 그 길을 떠나지 아니하리라. Train up a child in the way he should go： and when he is old, he will not depart from it. | |||
| ☞잠22:7 | 부자는 가난한 자를 다스리고 빚진 자는 빌려 준 자의 종이 되느니라. The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. | |||
| ☞잠22:8 | 죄악을 뿌린 자는 헛된 것을 거두리니, 그의 진노의 막대기가 꺾이리라. He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity： and the rod of his anger shall fail. | |||
| ☞잠22:9 | 관대한 눈을 가진 자는 복을 받으리니, 이는 그가 자기의 양식을 가난한 자에게 주기 때문이라. He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor. | |||
| ☞잠22:10 | 조롱하는 자를 쫓아내라. 그러면 다툼이 없어지리니, 정녕, 싸움과 비난이 그치리라. Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease. | |||
| ☞잠22:11 | 마음의 순결함을 사랑하는 자는 은혜가 그의 입술에 있어, 왕이 그의 친구가 되리라. He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend. | |||
| ☞잠22:12 | 주의 눈은 지식을 보존하시며 행악자의 말을 무너뜨리시느니라. The eyes of the LORD preserve knowledge, and he overthroweth the words of the transgressor. | |||
| ☞잠22:13 | 게으른 사람은 말하기를 "사자가 밖에 있으니, 내가 길거리에 나가면 죽게 되리라." 하느니라. The slothful man saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets. | |||
| ☞잠22:14 | 타국 여인의 입은 깊은 구덩이라, 주께서 증오하시는 자는 거기에 빠지리라. The mouth of strange women is a deep pit： he that is abhorred of the LORD shall fall therein. | |||
| ☞잠22:15 | 아이의 마음 속에는 어리석음이 매여 있으나, 징계하는 막대기가 그에게서 이를 멀리 쫓아내리라. Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. | |||
| ☞잠22:16 | 자기 재산을 늘리려고 가난한 자를 억압하는 자와 부자에게 주는 자는 반드시 가난하게 되리라. He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want. | |||
| ☞잠22:17 | 너는 귀를 기울여 현명한 자의 말을 듣고, 내 지식을 네 마음에 두라. Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge. | |||
| ☞잠22:18 | 그것들을 네 속에 간직하면 즐거움이 있나니, 그것들이 모두 네 입술에 바르게 자리 잡으리라. For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall withal be fitted in thy lips. | |||
| ☞잠22:19 | 너의 신뢰가 주께 있게 하려고 오늘 내가 너에게 이것을 알게 하였으니, 바로 너에게라. That thy trust may be in the LORD, I have made known to thee this day, even to thee. | |||
| ☞잠22:20 | 내가 조언과 지식의 훌륭한 것들을 네게 기록하였으니 Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge, | |||
| ☞잠22:21 | 이는 너로 하여금 진리의 말씀들의 확실함을 알게 하며, 너에게 사람을 보낸 그들에게 진리의 말씀들을 대답하게 하려 함이 아니냐? That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee? | |||
| ☞잠22:22 | 가난한 자에게서 빼앗지 말라. 이는 그가 가난하기 때문이라. 고난받는 자를 성문에서 억압하지 말라. Rob not the poor, because he is poor： neither oppress the afflicted in the gate： | |||
| ☞잠22:23 | 이는 주께서 그들을 위해 변호하실 것이요, 그들을 약탈하는 자들의 생명을 빼앗으실 것이기 때문이라. For the LORD will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them. | |||
| ☞잠22:24 | 성내는 사람과 사귀지 말고 격노한 사람과 동행하지 말라. Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go： | |||
| ☞잠22:25 | 네가 그의 길들을 배워 네 혼이 덫에 걸릴까 하노라. Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul. | |||
| ☞잠22:26 | 너는 협정을 맺거나 빚보증을 서는 자들 중 하나가 되지 말라. Be not thou one of them that strike hands, or of them that are sureties for debts. | |||
| ☞잠22:27 | 네가 갚을 것이 없으면 그가 네가 누운 침상을 가져가지 않겠느냐? If thou hast nothing to pay, why should he take away thy bed from under thee? | |||
| ☞잠22:28 | 네 조상들이 세운 옛 지계표를 옮기지 말라. Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set. | |||
| ☞잠22:29 | 네가 자기 일에 근면한 사람을 보느냐? 그는 왕들 앞에 설 것이요, 비천한 사람들 앞에 서지 아니하리라. Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men. | |||
