| ☞잠14:1 | 현명한 여인마다 자기 집을 세우나, 어리석은 여인은 자기 손으로 집을 무너뜨리느니라. Every wise woman buildeth her house： but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands. | |||
| ☞잠14:2 | 정직하게 행하는 자는 주를 두려워하나, 행실이 패역한 자는 그를 멸시하느니라. He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD： but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him. | |||
| ☞잠14:3 | 어리석은 자의 입에는 교만의 막대기가 있으나, 현명한 자들의 입술은 그들을 지키리라. In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride： but the lips of the wise shall preserve them. | |||
| ☞잠14:4 | 소가 없는 곳의 구유는 깨끗하나, 수소의 힘으로 얻는 것이 많으니라. Where no oxen are, the crib is clean： but much increase is by the strength of the ox. | |||
| ☞잠14:5 | 신실한 증인은 거짓말을 하지 않을 것이나, 거짓 증인은 거짓말을 내뱉을 것이라. A faithful witness will not lie： but a false witness will utter lies. | |||
| ☞잠14:6 | 조롱하는 자는 지혜를 구하여도 얻지 못하나, 명철한 자는 지식을 얻기가 쉬우니라. A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not： but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth. | |||
| ☞잠14:7 | 어리석은 사람의 앞을 떠나라. 너는 그에게서 지식의 입술을 보지 못하느니라. Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge. | |||
| ☞잠14:8 | 총명한 자의 지혜는 자기의 길을 깨닫는 것이나, 어리석은 자의 미련함은 속이는 것이니라. The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way： but the folly of fools is deceit. | |||
| ☞잠14:9 | 어리석은 자들은 죄를 비웃으나, 의로운 자들 가운데는 은총이 있느니라. Fools make a mock at sin： but among the righteous there is favour. | |||
| ☞잠14:10 | 자신의 비통함은 그 마음이 알며, 그의 즐거움에 타국인이 간섭하지 못하느니라. The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy. | |||
| ☞잠14:11 | 악인의 집은 무너질 것이나, 정직한 자의 장막은 번성하리라. The house of the wicked shall be overthrown： but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish. | |||
| ☞잠14:12 | 사람에게 옳게 보이는 길이 있으나, 그 끝은 죽음의 길이니라. There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. | |||
| ☞잠14:13 | 웃는 자일지라도 그 마음은 슬프고 그 즐거움의 끝은 근심이니라. Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness. | |||
| ☞잠14:14 | 마음이 타락한 자는 자기의 행위로 채워지겠고, 선한 사람도 자기 행위로 만족하리라. The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways： and a good man shall be satisfied from himself. | |||
| ☞잠14:15 | 우매한 자는 온갖 말을 믿으나, 총명한 사람은 자기의 걸음을 살피느니라. The simple believeth every word： but the prudent man looketh well to his going. | |||
| ☞잠14:16 | 현명한 사람은 두려워하여 악에서 떠나나, 어리석은 자는 방자하여 자신만만해 하느니라. A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil： but the fool rageth, and is confident. | |||
| ☞잠14:17 | 화를 속히 내는 자는 어리석게 행하고, 악한 계략을 꾸미는 사람은 미움을 받느니라. He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly： and a man of wicked devices is hated. | |||
| ☞잠14:18 | 우매한 자는 어리석음을 유업으로 받으나, 총명한 자는 지식으로 면류관을 쓰느니라. The simple inherit folly： but the prudent are crowned with knowledge. | |||
| ☞잠14:19 | 악한 자는 선한 자 앞에 엎드리고, 악인은 의인의 대문에 엎드리느니라. The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous. | |||
| ☞잠14:20 | 가난한 자는 자기 이웃에게도 미움을 받으나, 부자에게는 많은 친구가 있느니라. The poor is hated even of his own neighbour： but the rich hath many friends. | |||
| ☞잠14:21 | 자기 이웃을 멸시하는 자는 죄를 범하는 것이나, 가난한 자에게 자비를 베푸는 자는 행복하니라. He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth： but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he. | |||
| ☞잠14:22 | 악을 꾀하는 자는 잘못 가는 것이 아니냐? 그러나 선을 계획하는 자들에게는 자비와 진리가 있으리라. Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good. | |||
| ☞잠14:23 | 모든 수고에는 유익이 있으나, 입술의 말은 빈곤에 이를 뿐이니라. In all labour there is profit： but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury. | |||
| ☞잠14:24 | 재물은 현명한 자의 면류관이나, 어리석은 자들의 어리석음은 미련함이니라. The crown of the wise is their riches： but the foolishness of fools is folly. | |||
| ☞잠14:25 | 진실한 증인은 혼들을 구해 주나, 속이는 증인은 거짓말을 하느니라. A true witness delivereth souls： but a deceitful witness speaketh lies. | |||
| ☞잠14:26 | 주를 두려워하는 것에는 견고한 신뢰가 있으니, 그의 자녀들에게는 피난처가 있으리라. In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence： and his children shall have a place of refuge. | |||
| ☞잠14:27 | 주를 두려워하는 것은 죽음의 덫에서 벗어나게 하는 생명의 샘이니라. The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death. | |||
| ☞잠14:28 | 백성이 많은 것은 왕의 영예이나, 백성이 적은 것은 통치자의 멸망이니라. In the multitude of people is the king's honour： but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince. | |||
| ☞잠14:29 | 노하기를 더디하는 자는 크게 깨달은 자이나, 영이 조급한 자는 미련함을 드러내느니라. He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding： but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly. | |||
| ☞잠14:30 | 건전한 마음은 육신의 생명이나, 시기는 뼈를 썩게 하느니라. A sound heart is the life of the flesh： but envy the rottenness of the bones. | |||
| ☞잠14:31 | 가난한 자를 억압하는 자는 그를 지으신 분을 욕되게 하는 것이나, 그를 영예롭게 하는 자는 가난한 자에게 자비를 베푸느니라. He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker： but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor. | |||
| ☞잠14:32 | 악인은 자기의 악함 가운데 사라지나, 의인은 죽음에 있어서도 소망을 갖느니라. The wicked is driven away in his wickedness： but the righteous hath hope in his death. | |||
| ☞잠14:33 | 지혜는 명철한 자의 마음 속에 머물거니와, 어리석은 자들의 심중에 있는 것은 알려지느니라. Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding： but that which is in the midst of fools is made known. | |||
| ☞잠14:34 | 의는 민족을 높이지만 죄는 백성을 욕되게 하느니라. Righteousness exalteth a nation： but sin is a reproach to any people. | |||
| ☞잠14:35 | 왕의 은총은 현명한 종에게 가고, 그의 진노는 수치를 일으키는 자에게 가느니라. The king's favour is toward a wise servant： but his wrath is against him that causeth shame. | |||
