| ☞잠16:1 | 사람이 마음으로 준비하여도 그 혀의 대답은 주께로부터 나느니라. The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD. | |||
| ☞잠16:2 | 사람의 모든 행위가 자기의 눈에는 깨끗하나, 주께서는 그 영들을 달아 보시느니라. All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits. | |||
| ☞잠16:3 | 너의 일들을 주께 맡기라. 그리하면 너의 생각이 바로 서리라. Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established. | |||
| ☞잠16:4 | 주께서는 모든 것을 자신을 위하여 지으셨으니, 정녕, 악한 날을 위하여 지으신 악인까지라. The LORD hath made all things for himself： yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. | |||
| ☞잠16:5 | 마음이 교만한 자는 누구라도 주께 가증함이니, 손에 손을 잡을지라도 그가 벌을 면치 못하리라. Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD： though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished. | |||
| ☞잠16:6 | 죄악은 자비와 진리로 정결케 되나니, 사람들이 주를 두려워함으로 악에서 떠나게 되느니라. By mercy and truth iniquity is purged： and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil. | |||
| ☞잠16:7 | 사람의 행위가 주를 기쁘시게 하면 주께서 그 사람의 원수들까지도 그와 화목하게 하시느니라. When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. | |||
| ☞잠16:8 | 의와 함께하는 적은 소득이 의가 없는 큰 소득보다 나으니라. Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right. | |||
| ☞잠16:9 | 사람의 마음이 자기의 길을 계획하나, 주께서 그의 걸음을 인도하시느니라. A man's heart deviseth his way： but the LORD directeth his steps. | |||
| ☞잠16:10 | 하나님의 말씀이 왕의 입술에 있으니 그 입이 재판에서 오판하지 아니하느니라. A divine sentence is in the lips of the king： his mouth transgresseth not in judgment. | |||
| ☞잠16:11 | 공정한 저울과 평행추는 주의 것이요, 주머니 속의 모든 추들도 그의 작품이니라. A just weight and balance are the LORD's： all the weights of the bag are his work. | |||
| ☞잠16:12 | 악을 행하는 것은 왕들에게 가증한 것이니, 이는 그 보좌가 의로 말미암아 굳게 서기 때문이라. It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness： for the throne is established by righteousness. | |||
| ☞잠16:13 | 의로운 입술들은 왕들이 기뻐하는 것이요, 그들은 정직하게 말하는 자를 사랑하느니라. Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him that speaketh right. | |||
| ☞잠16:14 | 왕의 진노는 죽음의 사자와 같으나, 현명한 사람은 그것을 가라앉히리라. The wrath of a king is as messengers of death： but a wise man will pacify it. | |||
| ☞잠16:15 | 왕의 얼굴 빛에는 생명이 있으며, 그의 은총은 늦은 비를 내리는 구름과 같으니라. In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of the latter rain. | |||
| ☞잠16:16 | 지혜를 얻는 것이 금을 얻는 것보다 얼마나 더 좋은가! 은보다는 명철을 얻는 것을 오히려 택해야 하리라! How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver! | |||
| ☞잠16:17 | 악을 떠나는 것이 정직한 자의 대로니, 자기의 길을 지키는 자는 자기의 혼을 보존하느니라. The highway of the upright is to depart from evil： he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul. | |||
| ☞잠16:18 | 교만은 멸망 앞에 있으며 거만한 영은 몰락 앞에 있느니라. Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. | |||
| ☞잠16:19 | 낮추는 자와 함께 겸손한 영을 갖는 것이 교만한 자와 함께 탈취물을 나누는 것보다 나으니라. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. | |||
| ☞잠16:20 | 일을 현명하게 다루는 자는 좋은 것을 얻으리니, 주를 신뢰하는 자는 누구나 행복하니라. He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good： and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he. | |||
| ☞잠16:21 | 마음이 현명한 자는 총명하다고 불릴 것이며, 입술의 향기로움은 학식을 늘리느니라. The wise in heart shall be called prudent： and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning. | |||
| ☞잠16:22 | 명철을 지닌 자에게는 명철이 생명의 샘이나, 어리석은 자들의 가르침은 미련함이니라. Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it： but the instruction of fools is folly. | |||
| ☞잠16:23 | 현명한 자의 마음은 그의 입을 가르치며 그 입술에 학식을 더하느니라. The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips. | |||
| ☞잠16:24 | 즐거운 말들은 벌집 같아서 혼에 달고 뼈에 건강이 되느니라. Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. | |||
| ☞잠16:25 | 사람에게 옳게 보이는 길이 있으나 그 끝은 죽음의 길이니라. There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. | |||
| ☞잠16:26 | 노동하는 자는 자신을 위하여 일하나니, 이는 그의 입이 그에게 요구함이라. He that laboureth laboureth for himself; for his mouth craveth it of him. | |||
| ☞잠16:27 | 경건치 못한 사람은 악을 꾀하나니, 그의 입술에는 맹렬한 불 같은 것이 있느니라. An ungodly man diggeth up evil： and in his lips there is as a burning fire. | |||
| ☞잠16:28 | 마음이 비뚤어진 자는 다툼을 심고, 수군거리는 자는 친한 벗들을 갈라 놓느니라. A froward man soweth strife： and a whisperer separateth chief friends. | |||
| ☞잠16:29 | 난폭한 사람은 자기 이웃을 꾀어 선하지 않은 길로 인도하느니라. A violent man enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good. | |||
| ☞잠16:30 | 그는 비뚤어진 일들을 도모하려고 눈을 감고 그의 입술로 선동하여 악을 이루느니라. He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things： moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass. | |||
| ☞잠16:31 | 의의 길에서 얻게 된다면 흰 머리는 영광의 면류관이니라. The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness. | |||
| ☞잠16:32 | 성을 더디 내는 자는 용사보다 낫고, 자기의 영을 다스리는 자는 성읍을 차지하는 자보다 나으니라. He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. | |||
| ☞잠16:33 | 제비는 마음대로 뽑으나 그 일의 결과는 주께 있느니라. The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD. | |||
