| ☞잠19:1 | 성실하게 행하는 가난한 자가 입술이 패역하고 어리석은 자보다 나으니라. Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool. | |||
| ☞잠19:2 | 또한, 지식 없는 혼은 좋지 못하며, 발이 급한 사람은 죄를 짓느니라. Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth. | |||
| ☞잠19:3 | 사람의 어리석음이 자기 길을 벗어나게 하나니, 그의 마음이 주를 원망하느니라. The foolishness of man perverteth his way： and his heart fretteth against the LORD. | |||
| ☞잠19:4 | 재물은 많은 친구를 만드나, 가난은 자기 이웃으로부터 나뉘게 하느니라. Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour. | |||
| ☞잠19:5 | 거짓 증인은 벌을 면치 못할 것이요, 거짓말하는 자도 피하지 못하리라. A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape. | |||
| ☞잠19:6 | 많은 사람이 통치자의 호의를 간청할 것이요, 선물을 주는 사람에게는 누구나 친구가 되느니라. Many will intreat the favour of the prince： and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts. | |||
| ☞잠19:7 | 가난한 자는 그의 모든 형제들에게도 미움을 받거늘, 하물며 그의 친구들이야 얼마나 더 멀리하겠느냐? 그가 쫓아가며 사정할지라도 그들은 그에게서 떠나가느니라. All the brethren of the poor do hate him： how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him. | |||
| ☞잠19:8 | 지혜를 얻는 자는 자기 혼을 사랑하고, 명철을 지키는 자는 좋은 것을 얻으리라. He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul： he that keepeth understanding shall find good. | |||
| ☞잠19:9 | 거짓 증인은 벌을 면치 못할 것이요, 거짓말하는 자는 망하리라. A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish. | |||
| ☞잠19:10 | 어리석은 자에게는 즐거움이 어울리지 아니하거늘, 하물며 종이 통치자들을 다스림이랴. Delight is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes. | |||
| ☞잠19:11 | 사람의 신중함은 그의 노를 늦추며, 죄과를 눈감아 주는 것은 그의 영광이니라. The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression. | |||
| ☞잠19:12 | 왕의 진노는 사자의 포효 같으나, 그의 은총은 풀의 이슬 같으니라. The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass. | |||
| ☞잠19:13 | 어리석은 아들은 그 아버지의 재앙이요, 아내의 다툼들은 떨어지는 물방울이니라. A foolish son is the calamity of his father： and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping. | |||
| ☞잠19:14 | 집과 재산은 조상들에게서 상속받지만 신중한 아내는 주께로부터 받느니라. House and riches are the inheritance of fathers： and a prudent wife is from the LORD. | |||
| ☞잠19:15 | 게으름은 깊은 잠에 빠지게 하나니, 게으른 혼은 주릴 것이니라. Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger. | |||
| ☞잠19:16 | 계명을 지키는 자는 자기 자신의 혼을 지키는 것이나, 그 분의 길들을 멸시하는 자는 죽으리라. He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die. | |||
| ☞잠19:17 | 가난한 자를 불쌍히 여기는 자는 주께 빌려 드리는 것이니, 그가 베푼 것을 주께서 그에게 다시 갚아 주시리라. He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. | |||
| ☞잠19:18 | 소망이 있을 때 네 아들을 징계하라. 그의 부르짖음으로 인하여 네 혼은 용서하지 말지니라. Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying. | |||
| ☞잠19:19 | 크게 진노하는 자는 벌을 받을 것이니, 네가 그를 구해 준다 하여도 다시 구해 주어야 하리라. A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment： for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again. | |||
| ☞잠19:20 | 권고를 듣고 훈계를 받으라. 그리하면 네가 말년에 지혜롭게 되리라. Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end. | |||
| ☞잠19:21 | 사람의 마음에는 많은 계획이 있지만 오직 주의 권고만이 서리라. There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand. | |||
| ☞잠19:22 | 사람이 바라는 것은 그의 친절이라. 가난한 사람이 거짓말하는 자보다 나으니라. The desire of a man is his kindness： and a poor man is better than a liar. | |||
| ☞잠19:23 | 주를 두려워하는 것은 생명으로 이끄는 것이니, 그것을 행하는 자는 만족하게 거할 것이요, 그는 재앙을 만나지 아니하리라. The fear of the LORD tendeth to life： and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil. | |||
| ☞잠19:24 | 게으른 사람은 자기 손을 품에 감추고 자기 입으로 다시 가져오는 것조차 하지 않으려 하느니라. A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again. | |||
| ☞잠19:25 | 조롱하는 자를 때리라. 그리하면 우매한 자가 각성하리라. 명철한 자를 꾸짖으라. 그리하면 그가 지식을 얻으리라. Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware： and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge. | |||
| ☞잠19:26 | 자기 아버지를 구박하고 자기 어머니를 쫓아내는 자는 수치를 일으키고 비난을 부르는 아들이니라. He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach. | |||
| ☞잠19:27 | 내 아들아, 지식의 말씀들에서 벗어나게 하는 훈계 듣기를 그치라. Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge. | |||
| ☞잠19:28 | 불경건한 증인은 심판을 비웃으며, 악인의 입은 죄악을 삼키느니라. An ungodly witness scorneth judgment： and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity. | |||
| ☞잠19:29 | 심판은 거만한 자들을 위하여 준비된 것이요, 매는 어리석은 자들의 등을 위하여 준비된 것이니라. Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools. | |||
