☞출21:1 이제 네가 그들 앞에 세울 명령들은 이러하니라.
Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.
☞출21:2 네가 한 히브리인 종을 사면 그가 육 년 간을 섬길 것이요 칠년째는 아무 일도 하지 않아도 값없이 나갈 것이니라.
If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve： and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.
☞출21:3 만일 그가 혼자 왔으면 혼자 나갈 것이며 만일 그가 혼인하였으면 그의 아내도 그와 함께 나갈 것이니라.
If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself： if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.
☞출21:4 만일 그의 주인이 그에게 아내를 주어 그녀가 그에게 아들들이나 딸들을 낳았으면 그 아내와 그녀의 자식들은 그녀의 주인의 것이니 그는 혼자 나갈 것이니라.
If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself.
☞출21:5 만일 종이 분명히 말하기를 '내가 내 주인과 내 아내와 내 자식들을 사랑하여 자유로이 나가지 않겠노라.' 하면
And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free：
☞출21:6 그때 그의 주인은 그를 재판관들에게 데리고 갈 것이며 그는 또한 그를 문이나 문설주로 데리고 가서 그의 주인이 송곳으로 그의 귀를 뚫으리니 그가 영원히 그 주인을 섬기리라.
Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.
☞출21:7 만일 어떤 사람이 자기 딸을 여종으로 팔았으면 그녀는 남종처럼 나가지 못할 것이라.
And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.
☞출21:8 만일 그녀가 자기와 정혼한 주인을 기쁘게 하지 못하면 그로 그녀를 구속토록 할 것이니라. 타국에 그녀를 팔 권한이 그에게 없으니 이는 그가 그녀를 거짓으로 대했음이니라.
If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed： to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.
☞출21:9 만일 그가 그녀를 자기 아들과 정혼시켰으면 그녀를 딸들처럼 대해야 하리니
And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.
☞출21:10 만일 그가 다른 아내를 얻었어도 그녀의 양식과 의복과 그녀와의 혼인의 의무는 그가 줄이지 못할 것이라.
If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.
☞출21:11 만일 그가 그녀에게 이 세 가지를 행하지 아니하면 그때에는 그녀가 돈을 갚지 않고도 자유로이 나갈 수 있느니라.
And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money.
☞출21:12 사람을 쳐서 죽게 하는 자는 반드시 죽일지니라.
He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.
☞출21:13 만일 어떤 사람이 기다렸다가 한 것이 아니고 하나님이 그의 손에 넘겨준 것이면 그때에는 내가 너에게 한 장소를 정해 주리니 그가 그 곳으로 도망할 것이니라.
And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee.
☞출21:14 그러나 만일 어떤 사람이 자기 이웃에게 고의적으로 가서 간계로 그를 살해하였으면 너는 그를 나의 제단에서 끌어내어 죽일지니라.
But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.
☞출21:15 자기 아비나 어미를 친 자는 반드시 죽일지니라.
And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.
☞출21:16 사람을 훔쳐서 팔거나 자기 수하에 둔 자는 반드시 죽일지니라.
And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
☞출21:17 자기 아비나 어미를 저주하는 자는 반드시 죽일지니라.
And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.
☞출21:18 만일 사람들이 서로 싸우다가 한 사람이 다른 사람을 돌이나 주먹으로 쳤으나 그가 죽지 않고 자리에 누워 있다가
And if men strive together, and one smite another with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keepeth his bed：
☞출21:19 그가 다시 일어나서 지팡이를 짚고 움직이면 그를 친 자는 형벌을 면하게 되나 그 사람의 시간의 손실을 변상하고 그를 완전히 낫게 할지니라.
If he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit： only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed.
☞출21:20 어떤 사람이 자기 종이나 여종을 매로 쳐서 그가 그의 수하에서 죽으면 그는 반드시 형벌을 받으리라.
And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.
☞출21:21 그러나 그 종이 하루나 이틀을 살아 있으면 그 주인은 형벌을 받지 않으리니 이는 그가 주인의 돈이기 때문이라.
Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished： for he is his money.
☞출21:22 만일 사람들이 싸우다가 아이 밴 여인을 다치게 하면 그녀의 열매가 그녀에게서 나올 때 아무런 피해가 따르지 않았어도 그는 반드시 형벌을 받아야 하리니, 그 여인의 남편이 그에게 청구하는 대로 재판관들의 판결을 따라 지불해야 할지니라.
If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow： he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
☞출21:23 만일 어떤 피해가 따르면 그때는 생명은 생명으로 갚아야 하며
And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
☞출21:24 눈은 눈으로, 이는 이로, 손은 손으로, 발은 발로,
Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
☞출21:25 데인 것은 데임으로, 상처는 상처로, 매질한 것은 매질한 것으로 갚을지니라.
Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
☞출21:26 만일 어떤 사람이 자기 남종의 눈이나 여종의 눈을 쳐서 그것이 상했으면 그 사람은 그 종의 눈으로 인해 그를 자유로이 가게 할지니라.
And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye's sake.
☞출21:27 만일 그가 그의 남종의 이나 여종의 이를 쳤으면 그의 이로 인해 그를 자유로이 가게 할지니라.
And if he smite out his manservant's tooth, or his maidservant's tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth's sake.
☞출21:28 만일 어떤 소가 남자나 여자를 받아서 그들이 죽으면 그 소는 반드시 돌로 쳐서 죽일 것이며 그 고기는 먹지 못할 것이나 그 소의 주인은 형벌을 면하게 될지니라.
If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die： then the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit.
☞출21:29 그러나 그 소가 이전에도 뿔로 받는 버릇이 있고 그 사실이 주인에게 증거되었는데도 그가 그 소를 가두지 아니하여 그 소가 남자나 여자를 죽였으면 그 소는 돌로 쳐서 죽일 것이며 그 주인도 죽일지니라.
But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death.
☞출21:30 만일 그에게 금액이 부과되면 그때 그는 그의 생명의 몸값으로 그에게 부과되는 것이 얼마이든지 내야 하리라.
If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.
☞출21:31 그 소가 아들을 받거나 딸을 받거나, 이 명령에 따라 그에게 행해져야 하리라.
Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him.
☞출21:32 만일 소가 남종이나 여종을 받으면 그는 그들의 주인에게 은 삼십 세켈을 줄 것이요, 그 소는 돌로 칠지니라.
If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.
☞출21:33 만일 어떤 사람이 구덩이를 열어 두거나 어떤 사람이 구덩이를 파고 덮지 아니하여 소나 나귀가 거기에 빠졌으면
And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein;
☞출21:34 그 구덩이 주인은 이것을 보상해서 그 짐승의 주인에게 돈으로 줄 것이요, 그 죽은 짐승은 그의 것이 될지니라.
The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.
☞출21:35 만일 어떤 사람의 소가 다른 사람의 소를 다치게 하여 죽으면 그들은 산 소를 팔아서 그 대금을 나눌 것이요, 죽은 소도 그들이 나눌 것이나
And if one man's ox hurt another's, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide.
☞출21:36 그 소가 이전에도 받는 버릇이 있는데도 그 주인이 그 소를 가두지 않은 것이 알려지면 그는 반드시 소를 소로 갚을 것이요, 죽은 짐승은 그의 소유가 될지니라.
Or if it be known that the ox hath used to push in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox; and the dead shall be his own.
