☞왕상3:1 솔로몬이 이집트 왕 파라오와 인척 관계를 맺고 파라오의 딸을 취하여 그녀를 다윗 성읍으로 데려와서 자기의 집과 주의 전과 예루살렘 주위의 성벽의 건축이 마칠 때까지 두었더라.
And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh's daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the LORD, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.
☞왕상3:2 그때까지 주의 이름으로 건축된 전이 없었으므로 백성들은 오직 산당에서만 제사를 드리더라.
Only the people sacrificed in high places, because there was no house built unto the name of the LORD, until those days.
☞왕상3:3 솔로몬이 주를 사랑하여 그의 아버지 다윗의 규례대로 행하였더라. 하지만 그가 산당에서 제사를 드리고 분향하더라.
And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father： only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places.
☞왕상3:4 왕이 기브온에서 제사를 드리려고 거기로 갔으니, 이는 거기에 큰 산당이 있음이더라. 솔로몬이 그 제단에 일천 번제를 드리니라.
And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place： a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.
☞왕상3:5 기브온에서 주께서 밤에 꿈으로 솔로몬에게 나타나셨더라. 하나님께서 말씀하시기를 "내가 네게 줄 것을 구하라." 하시자
In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night： and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.
☞왕상3:6 솔로몬이 말씀드리기를 "내 아버지 다윗이 주 앞에서 진리와 공의로 행하고 주와 더불어 마음의 정직함으로 행할 때 주께서 주의 종 내 아버지 다윗에게 큰 자비를 베푸셨으며, 또 주께서 그를 위하여 이같이 큰 은총을 간직하시어 그에게 한 아들을 주사 그의 보좌에 앉게 하신 것이 오늘과 같나이다.
And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
☞왕상3:7 오 주 나의 하나님이여, 이제 주께서는 주의 종을 내 아버지 다윗을 대신하여 왕으로 삼으셨나이다. 나는 어린 아이에 불과하오니, 어떻게 나가고 들어와야 할지 알지 못하나이다.
And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father： and I am but a little child： I know not how to go out or come in.
☞왕상3:8 주의 종은 주께서 선정하신 주의 백성 가운데 있사오니, 그들은 큰 백성이라, 무리를 셀 수도 없고 헤아려 볼 수도 없나이다.
And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.
☞왕상3:9 그러므로 주의 종에게 주의 백성을 재판할 수 있는 명철한 마음을 주시어, 나로 선과 악을 분별하게 하소서. 누가 이 큰 주의 백성을 재판할 수 있겠나이까?" 하니
Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad： for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?
☞왕상3:10 솔로몬이 이것을 구한 그 말이 주를 기쁘시게 한지라
And the speech pleased the LORD, that Solomon had asked this thing.
☞왕상3:11 하나님께서 그에게 말씀하시기를 "네가 이것을 구하고 자신을 위하여 장수도 구하지 아니하였으며, 자신을 위해 재물도 구하지 아니하고, 네 원수의 생명도 구하지 아니하고, 오히려 재판을 분별할 수 있는 명철을 구하였으니
And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;
☞왕상3:12 보라, 내가 네 말대로 하였으며, 보라, 내가 너에게 현명하고 명철한 마음을 주었으니, 너 이전에도 그런 자가 없었으며, 너 이후에도 너와 같은 자가 일어나지 아니하리라.
Behold, I have done according to thy words： lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.
☞왕상3:13 내가 또한 네가 구하지 아니한 재물과 명예를 네게 주었으니, 네 평생에 왕들 중에 너와 같은 자가 없으리라.
And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour： so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.
☞왕상3:14 네가 네 아버지 다윗이 행한 것처럼 내 길로 행하여 나의 규례와 나의 명령을 지키면 내가 네 날들을 늘려 주리라." 하시더라.
And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.
☞왕상3:15 솔로몬이 깨고 보니, 보라, 그것이 꿈이었더라. 솔로몬이 예루살렘으로 가서 주의 언약궤 앞에 서서 번제를 드리고 화목제를 드리며, 그의 모든 신하들에게 잔치를 베풀더라.
And Solomon awoke; and, behold, it was a dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and offered up burnt offerings, and offered peace offerings, and made a feast to all his servants.
☞왕상3:16 그때 창녀인 두 여자가 왕에게 와서 그의 앞에 섰으니
Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him.
☞왕상3:17 한 여자가 말하기를 "오 내 주여, 나와 이 여자가 한 집에 거하는데, 내가 그녀와 함께 그 집에 있을 때 아이를 낳았나이다.
And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.
☞왕상3:18 내가 해산한 지 삼 일 후에 이 여자도 해산하였는데, 우리가 함께 있었고 그 집에는 우리 둘 외에 우리와 함께 한 다른 사람은 없었나이다.
And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also： and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house.
☞왕상3:19 그런데 이 여자의 아이가 밤에 죽었으니, 이는 이 여자가 아이 위에 누웠음이니이다.
And this woman's child died in the night; because she overlaid it.
☞왕상3:20 그러자 이 여자가 한밤중에 일어나 당신의 여종이 잠든 사이에 내 곁에 있던 내 아들을 취하여 자기 품에 누이고, 그녀의 죽은 아이를 내 품에 뉘어 놓았나이다.
And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.
☞왕상3:21 내가 아침에 일어나 내 아이에게 젖을 주려 하는데, 보소서, 아이가 죽었더이다. 그러나 내가 아침에 자세히 살펴 보니, 보소서, 그 아이는 내가 낳은 내 아들이 아니었나이다." 하니라.
And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead： but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear.
☞왕상3:22 그러자 다른 여자가 말하기를 "아니라, 살아 있는 것은 내 아들이요, 죽은 것이 네 아들이라." 하고 또 이 여자는 말하기를 "아니라, 죽은 것은 네 아들이요, 살아 있는 것이 내 아들이라." 하며 그들이 그렇게 왕 앞에서 말하더라.
And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spake before the king.
☞왕상3:23 그때 왕이 말하기를 "한 사람은 '살아 있는 것은 내 아들이요, 죽은 것이 네 아들이라.' 하고, 다른 사람은 '아니라, 죽은 것은 네 아들이요, 살아 있는 것이 내 아들이라.' 하는도다." 하고
Then said the king, The one saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead： and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living.
☞왕상3:24 왕이 말하기를 "칼을 가져오라." 하니 그들이 칼을 왕 앞으로 가져왔더라.
And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king.
☞왕상3:25 왕이 말하기를 "그 살아 있는 아이를 둘로 나누어 반은 이쪽에게, 또 반은 저쪽에게 주라." 하더라.
And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other.
☞왕상3:26 그때 살아 있는 아이가 자기 아이인 여자가 왕에게 고하였으니, 이는 그녀의 아들을 위한 그녀의 마음이 불타 올랐음이라. 그녀가 말하기를 "오 내 주여, 살아 있는 아이를 그녀에게 주고 아무쪼록 죽이지 마소서." 하였으나, 다른 여자는 말하기를 "내 것도 되지 않고 네 것도 되지 않도록 그 아이를 나누게 하소서." 하더라.
Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it.
☞왕상3:27 그때 왕이 대답하여 말하기를 "살아 있는 아이를 저 여자에게 주고 아무쪼록 죽이지 말라. 그녀가 그 아이의 어미니라." 하더라.
Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it： she is the mother thereof.
☞왕상3:28 온 이스라엘이 왕이 판결한 재판을 듣고 왕을 두려워하였으니, 이는 그들이 왕 안에 하나님의 지혜가 있어 재판함을 보았음이라.
And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king： for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment.
