☞요8:1 예수께서는 올리브 산으로 가시니라.
Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.
☞요8:2 이른 아침에 다시 성전으로 나오시니 모든 사람들이 주께로 오더라. 주께서 앉으셔서 그들을 가르치시더라.
And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.
☞요8:3 그때 서기관들과 바리새인들이 간음하다 잡힌 한 여인을 주께 데리고 와서 그 여인을 한가운데 세우고
And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
☞요8:4 주께 말씀드리기를 "선생님, 이 여인이 간음하다가 현장에서 잡혔나이다.
They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
☞요8:5 모세는 율법에서 그런 여자를 돌로 치라고 명령하였는데 선생님은 어떻게 말씀하시겠나이까?"라고 하니
Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned： but what sayest thou?
☞요8:6 그들이 이렇게 말하는 것은 주를 시험하여 그를 고소할 구실을 얻고자 함이라. 그러나 예수께서 못 들은 체하시고 몸을 굽혀 손가락으로 땅에다 쓰시더라.
This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
☞요8:7 그래도 그들이 계속해서 물으니 일어서시어 그들에게 말씀하시기를 "너희 중에 죄 없는 자가 먼저 그 여인에게 돌을 던지라."고 하시더라.
So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
☞요8:8 그리고 다시 몸을 굽히시어 땅에다 쓰시니
And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
☞요8:9 그 말을 들은 자들은 양심에 가책을 받아 늙은 사람들로부터 시작하여 맨 나중 사람까지 하나씩 하나씩 자리를 뜨더라. 그리하여 예수께서 혼자 남으시니 그 여인이 한가운데 서 있더라.
And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last： and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
☞요8:10 예수께서 일어서시어 그 여인 외에는 아무도 없는 것을 보시고 여인에게 말씀하시기를 "여인아, 너를 고소하던 자들이 어디에 있느냐? 아무도 너를 정죄하지 않더냐?"고 하시니
When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
☞요8:11 그 여인이 말씀드리기를 "주여 아무도 정죄하지 않았나이다."라고 하더라. 예수께서 그녀에게 말씀하시기를 "나도 너를 정죄하지 않노라. 가라, 그리고 더이상 죄를 짓지 말라."고 하시니라.
She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee： go, and sin no more.
☞요8:12 그때에 예수께서 다시 그들에게 말씀하시기를 "나는 세상의 빛이라. 나를 따라오는 사람은 결코 어두움 속에 다니지 아니하고 생명의 빛을 얻으리라."고 하시더라.
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world： he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
☞요8:13 바리새인들이 주께 말하기를 "당신이 당신 자신에 관하여 증거하니 당신의 증거는 옳지 않도다."고 하니
The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.
☞요8:14 예수께서 대답하시어 그들에게 말씀하시기를 "내가 내 자신에 관하여 증거할지라도 나의 증거는 옳도다. 이는 내가 어디서 와서 어디로 가는지 알기 때문이라. 그러나 너희는 내가 어디서 와서 어디로 가는지 말할 수 없느니라.
Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true： for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
☞요8:15 너희는 육신을 따라 판단하나 나는 아무도 판단하지 아니하노라.
Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
☞요8:16 만일 내가 판단을 한다 해도 나의 판단은 옳으니라. 이는 내가 혼자 있는 것이 아니요, 나와 나를 보내신 아버지께서 함께 있기 때문이라.
And yet if I judge, my judgment is true： for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
☞요8:17 너희 율법에도 두 사람의 증거가 옳다고 기록되어 있느니라.
It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
☞요8:18 나는 나 자신에 대하여 증거하며 또 나를 보내신 아버지께서도 나에 대하여 증거하시느니라."고 하시더라.
I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
☞요8:19 그러므로 그들이 주께 말하기를 "너의 아버지가 어디 있느냐?"고 하니, 예수께서 대답하시기를 "너희는 나를 모르며 내 아버지도 모르느니라. 만일 너희가 나를 알았다면 나의 아버지도 알았으리라."고 하시니라.
Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father： if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
☞요8:20 이런 말씀들을 예수께서 성전에서 가르치실 때 연보함이 있는 데서 하셨더라. 그러나 아무도 주께 손을 대는 자가 없었으니, 이는 그의 때가 아직 이르지 아니하였음이라.
These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple： and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.
☞요8:21 그때 예수께서 그들에게 다시 말씀하시기를 "내가 나의 길을 가리니 너희가 나를 찾을 것이나 너희는 너희 죄들 가운데서 죽으리라. 내가 가는 곳에는 너희가 올 수 없느니라."고 하시니
Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins： whither I go, ye cannot come.
☞요8:22 유대인들이 말하기를 "그가 말하기를 '내가 가는 곳에는 너희가 올 수 없느니라.'고 하니 그가 자살하려는가?"라고 하더라.
Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.
☞요8:23 그러므로 주께서 그들에게 말씀하시기를 "너희는 아래서 났고 나는 위에서 났으며, 너희는 이 세상에 속하나 나는 이 세상에 속하지 아니하노라.
And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above： ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
☞요8:24 내가 너희에게 말하기를 '너희는 너희 죄들 가운데서 죽으리라.'고 하였노라. 따라서 만일 너희가 내가 그인 줄 믿지 아니하면 너희는 너희 죄들 가운데서 죽으리라."고 하시니라.
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins： for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
☞요8:25 그러자 그들이 주께 말하기를 "네가 누구냐?"고 하니, 주께서 그들에게 말씀하시기를 "나는 처음부터 너희에게 말해 온 그니라.
Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.
☞요8:26 나에게는 너희에 대하여 말하고 또 판단할 것이 많으나 나를 보내신 분은 참되시니 내가 그 분으로부터 들은 것을 세상에 말하노라."고 하시더라.
I have many things to say and to judge of you： but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.
☞요8:27 그들이 주께서 자기들에게 아버지에 관해서 말씀하신 것을 깨닫지 못하므로
They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.
☞요8:28 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하시기를 "너희가 인자를 들어올리는 그때에야 너희는 내가 그인 줄 알게 되리라. 나는 스스로 아무것도 하지 아니하나 오직 내 아버지께서 내게 가르치신 대로 이런 것들을 말하노라.
Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
☞요8:29 나를 보내신 분이 나와 함께 계시느니라. 아버지께서는 나를 홀로 남겨 두지 아니하셨으니 이는 내가 언제나 그분을 기쁘게 하는 일들을 행하기 때문이라."고 하시니라.
And he that sent me is with me： the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
☞요8:30 주께서 이런 말씀들을 하시니 많은 사람이 주를 믿더라.
As he spake these words, many believed on him.
☞요8:31 그때 예수께서 자기를 믿은 그 유대인들에게 말씀하시기를 "너희가 내 말에 거하면 참으로 나의 제자가 되고
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
☞요8:32 진리를 알게 되리니 그 진리가 너희를 자유롭게 하리라."고 하시더라.
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
☞요8:33 그들이 주께 대답하기를 "우리는 아브라함의 씨요, 아직껏 아무에게도 노예가 되지 않았는데 어떻게 '너희가 자유롭게 되리라.'고 말하는가?"라고 하니
They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man： how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
☞요8:34 예수께서 그들에게 대답하시기를 "진실로 진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 죄를 짓는 자는 누구나 죄의 종이니라.
Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
☞요8:35 종은 집에서 영원히 거하지 못하나 아들은 영원히 거하느니라.
And the servant abideth not in the house for ever： but the Son abideth ever.
☞요8:36 그러므로 만일 아들이 너희를 자유롭게 하면 참으로 너희가 자유롭게 되리라.
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
☞요8:37 너희가 아브라함의 씨인 것을 내가 아노라. 그러나 너희가 나를 죽이려고 하는 것은 내 말이 너희 안에 있을 곳이 없기 때문이라.
I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.
☞요8:38 나는 내 아버지와 함께 본 것을 말하되 너희는 너희 아비와 함께 본 것을 행하는도다."라고 하시니라.
I speak that which I have seen with my Father： and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
☞요8:39 그들이 대답하여 주께 말하기를 "아브라함은 우리의 조상이라."고 하니, 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하시기를 "너희가 아브라함의 자손이었다면 아브라함의 일을 행하였으리라.
They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
☞요8:40 그러나 이제 너희는 하나님께로부터 들은 진리를 너희에게 말한 사람인 나를 죽이려고 하는도다. 아브라함은 이렇게 하지 않았도다.
But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God： this did not Abraham.
☞요8:41 너희는 너희 아비의 일들을 행하는도다."라고 하시니라. 그때 그들이 주께 말하기를 "우리는 음행을 통하여 나지 아니하였으며, 우리에게는 한 분 아버지가 계니 곧 하나님이시라."고 하니
Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
☞요8:42 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하시기를 "하나님이 너희의 아버지라면 너희는 나를 사랑하리라. 이는 내가 하나님께로부터 나와서 여기에 왔으며, 나 스스로 온 것이 아니요 그 분이 나를 보내셨음이라.
Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me： for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
☞요8:43 어찌하여 너희는 내 말을 깨닫지 못하느냐? 이는 너희가 나의 말을 들을 수 없기 때문이라.
Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
☞요8:44 너희는 너희 아비 마귀에게서 나와서 너희 아비의 정욕을 행하고자 하는도다. 그는 처음부터 살인자였으며 진리 가운데 거하지 아니하였으니 이는 자기 안에 진리가 없음이라. 그가 거짓말을 할 때는 자신에게서 우러나와 한 것이니, 이는 그가 거짓말쟁이요 또 거짓말의 아비이기 때문이라.
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own： for he is a liar, and the father of it.
☞요8:45 내가 진리를 말하므로 너희가 나를 믿지 아니하는도다.
And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
☞요8:46 너희 중에 누가 나를 죄에 대해서 힐책하겠느냐? 그러나 내가 진리를 말하는데 어찌하여 너희는 나를 믿지 아니하느냐?
Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?
☞요8:47 하나님께로부터 나온 사람은 하나님의 말씀을 듣느니라. 너희는 하나님의 말씀들을 듣지 아니하나니, 이는 너희가 하나님으로부터 나오지 않음이라."고 하시니라.
He that is of God heareth God's words： ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
☞요8:48 그때 유대인들이 대답하여 주께 말하기를 "네가 사마리아인이며 마귀들렸다고 한 우리가 올바로 말한 것이 아니냐?"고 하니
Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?
☞요8:49 예수께서 대답하시기를 "나는 마귀들린 것이 아니라 다만 내 아버지를 영화롭게 하고 있을 뿐인데 너희가 나를 멸시하고 있도다.
Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.
☞요8:50 나는 내 자신의 영광을 구하지 아니하나 그것을 구하고 판단하시는 이가 계시니라.
And I seek not mine own glory： there is one that seeketh and judgeth.
☞요8:51 진실로 진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 누구든지 내 말을 지키면 그는 결코 죽음을 보지 아니하리라."고 하시니라.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
☞요8:52 그러므로 유대인들이 주께 말하기를 "이제 우리는 네가 마귀들린 것을 알게 되었노라. 아브라함도 죽었고 또 선지자들도 죽었는데 네가 말하기를 '누구든지 내 말을 지키면 그는 결코 죽음을 맛보지 아니하리라.'고 하였으니
Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.
☞요8:53 네가 우리의 조상 아브라함보다 더 위대하냐? 그는 죽었고 또한 선지자들도 죽었느니라. 너는 네 자신을 누구라고 생각하느냐?"고 하더라.
Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead： whom makest thou thyself?
☞요8:54 예수께서 대답하시기를 "만일 내가 나 자신에게 영광을 돌린다면 나의 영광은 아무것도 아니지만 나를 영화롭게 하시는 분은 나의 아버지시니, 즉 너희가 너희의 하나님이라고 말하는 그 분이라.
Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing： it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God：
☞요8:55 또 너희는 그 분을 모르지만 나는 아노라. 만일 내가 그 분을 모른다고 말한다면 나도 너희처럼 거짓말쟁이가 되리라. 그러나 나는 그 분을 알고 또 그 분의 말씀을 지키노라.
Yet ye have not known him; but I know him： and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you： but I know him, and keep his saying.
☞요8:56 너희 조상 아브라함은 나의 날을 보기를 기뻐하다가 그 후 그것을 보고 즐거워하였느니라."고 하시니라.
Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day： and he saw it, and was glad.
☞요8:57 그때 유대인들이 주께 말하기를 "네가 아직 오십 세도 못되었는데 아브라함을 보았느냐?"고 하니
Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
☞요8:58 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하시기를 "진실로 진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 아브라함이 나기 전부터 나는 있느니라."고 하시니라.
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
☞요8:59 그들이 돌을 집어서 주께 던지려고 하였으나 예수께서 피하시고 성전에서 나가 그들 가운데로 가로질러 지나가시더라.
Then took they up stones to cast at him： but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
