☞요3:1 니코데모라 하는 바리새인 한 사람이 있었으니 유대인의 관원이라.
There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews：
☞요3:2 그가 밤에 예수께 와서 말씀드리기를 "랍비여, 우리는 당신이 하나님께로부터 오신 선생인 줄을 아나이다. 이는 하나님께서 함께하지 아니하시면 아무도 당신이 행하시는 이런 이적을 행할 수 없기 때문이니이다."라고 하더라.
The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God： for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
☞요3:3 예수께서 대답하여 그에게 말씀하시기를 "진실로 진실로 내가 너에게 말하노니, 사람이 거듭나지 아니하면 하나님의 나라를 볼 수 없느니라."고 하시니라.
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
☞요3:4 니코데모가 주께 말씀드리기를 "사람이 늙으면 어떻게 태어날 수 있나이까? 사람이 자기 어머니의 태에 두 번째 들어갔다가 태어날 수 있나이까?"라고 하니
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
☞요3:5 예수께서 대답하시기를 "진실로 진실로 내가 너에게 말하노니, 사람이 물과 성령으로 태어나지 아니하면 하나님의 나라에 들어갈 수 없느니라.
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
☞요3:6 육신으로 난 것은 육이요, 또 성령으로 난 것은 영이니라.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
☞요3:7 내가 너에게 '너희는 거듭나야만 한다.'고 말한 것을 이상히 여기지 말라.
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
☞요3:8 바람이 임의로 불어서 네가 그 소리를 들어도 어디서 와서 어디로 가는지 알지 못하듯이 성령으로 난 사람은 모두 그와 같으니라."고 하시니라.
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth： so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
☞요3:9 니코데모가 대답하여 주께 말씀드리기를 "어떻게 이런 일들이 있을 수 있나이까?"라고 하니
Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
☞요3:10 예수께서 대답하여 그에게 말씀하시기를 "너는 이스라엘의 선생이면서 이런 일들도 모르느냐?
Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
☞요3:11 진실로 진실로 내가 너에게 말하노니, 우리는 아는 것을 말하고 또 본 것을 증거하노라. 그래도 너희는 우리의 증거를 받아들이지 아니하는도다.
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
☞요3:12 내가 땅의 일들을 말하여도 너희가 믿지 아니하는데 하물며 하늘의 일들을 말한다면 어떻게 믿겠느냐?
If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
☞요3:13 하늘에서 내려온 이, 곧 하늘에 있는 인자 외에는 아무도 하늘에 올라간 자가 없느니라.
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
☞요3:14 모세가 광야에서 뱀을 들어올린 것같이 인자도 그렇게 들려올려져야만 하리니
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up：
☞요3:15 이는 그를 믿는 사람은 누구든지 멸망하지 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 함이니라.
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
☞요3:16 하나님께서 세상을 이처럼 사랑하셔서 그의 독생자를 주셨으니, 이는 그를 믿는 사람은 누구든지 멸망하지 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 하심이라.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
☞요3:17 하나님께서 자기 아들을 세상에 보내신 것은 세상을 정죄하려 하심이 아니요, 그를 통하여 세상이 구원받게하려 하심이라.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
☞요3:18 아들을 믿는 사람은 정죄를 받지 아니하나 믿지 않는 사람은 이미 정죄를 받은 것이라. 이는 그 사람이 하나님의 독생자의 이름을 믿지 않았기 때문이라.
He that believeth on him is not condemned： but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
☞요3:19 이것이 정죄라. 즉 빛이 세상에 왔으나 사람들이 빛보다는 오히려 어두움을 더 사랑하니 이는 그들의 행위가 악하기 때문이라.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
☞요3:20 악을 행하는 자는 누구나 빛을 미워하며 빛으로 오지 아니하나니, 혹 자기의 행위가 책망받을까 함이라.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
☞요3:21 진리를 행하는 자는 빛으로 오나니, 이는 하나님 안에서 행한 자기의 행위를 나타내고자 함이라."고 하시더라.
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
☞요3:22 이런 일들 후에 예수와 제자들이 유대 땅으로 와 주께서 거기서 그들과 함께 머물면서 침례를 주시더라.
After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.
☞요3:23 요한도 살림 근처 애논에서 침례를 주고 있었으니 이는 거기에 물이 많기 때문에 사람들이 와서 침례를 받더라.
And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there： and they came, and were baptized.
☞요3:24 요한이 그때까지는 감옥에 갇히지 아니하였더라.
For John was not yet cast into prison.
☞요3:25 그때 요한의 제자들과 유대인들 사이에 정결에 관하여 논쟁이 생기니
Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.
☞요3:26 그들이 요한에게 와서 말하기를 "랍비여, 보소서, 요단 강 건너편에서 당신과 함께 계셨고, 또 당신이 증거하신 그 분께서 침례를 주시니, 모든 사람이 그 분께로 가나이다."라고 하니
And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.
☞요3:27 요한이 대답하여 말하기를 "하늘에서 주신 것이 아니면 사람은 아무것도 받을 수 없느니라.
John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
☞요3:28 나는 그리스도가 아니요, 다만 그 분 앞에 보내심을 받은 자라고 내가 말한 것을 증거해 줄 자는 바로 너희니라.
Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
☞요3:29 신부를 얻는 사람은 신랑이지만 신랑의 친구는 곁에 서서 신랑의 음성을 듣고 그 음성으로 인하여 크게 기뻐하느니라. 그러므로 내게는 이런 기쁨이 충만하니라.
He that hath the bride is the bridegroom： but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice： this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
☞요3:30 그 분은 융성해야만 하나 나는 쇠잔해야만 하리라.
He must increase, but I must decrease.
☞요3:31 위로부터 오시는 분은 만물 위에 계시고 땅에서 난 자는 땅에 있어서 땅에 관한 일을 말하느니라. 그러나 하늘에서 오시는 분은 만물 위에 계시니라.
He that cometh from above is above all： he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth： he that cometh from heaven is above all.
☞요3:32 그 분이 보고 들은 것을 증거하시나 아무도 그 분의 증거를 받아들이지 않느니라.
And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
☞요3:33 그 분의 증거를 받은 사람은 하나님께서 참되시다는 것을 확증하느니라.
He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.
☞요3:34 하나님께서 보내신 분은 하나님의 말씀들을 말씀하시나니, 이는 하나님께서 그에게 성령을 한량없이 주심이라.
For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God： for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
☞요3:35 아버지께서 아들을 사랑하시어 모든 것들을 그의 손에 주셨으니
The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
☞요3:36 아들을 믿는 자는 영생을 가졌고 그 아들을 믿지 않는 자는 생명을 보지 못하고 오히려 하나님의 진노가 그 사람 위에 머물러 있느니라."고 하더라.
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life： and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
