☞요7:1

이 일들 후에 예수께서 갈릴리에서 다니시고 유대에서 다니시기를 원치 아니하시니 이는 유대인들이 그를 죽이려고 했기 때문이라.

After these things Jesus walked in Galilee： for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.

그때 유대인의 명절인 장막절이 가까웠으므로

Now the Jew's feast of tabernacles was at hand.

주의 형제들이 말하기를 "여기를 떠나서 유대로 가소서. 그리하여 당신의 제자들도 당신이 행하시는 일들을 보게 하소서.

His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.

☞요7:4

자신이 드러나게 알려지기를 바라면서 비밀리에 무엇을 행하는 사람은 아무도 없으니, 이런 일들을 하실 바에는 자신을 세상에 나타내 보이소서."라고 하더라.

For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.

☞요7:5

이는 주의 형제들까지도 주를 믿지 아니함이더라.

For neither did his brethren believe in him.

☞요7:6

그러므로 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하시기를 "나의 때는 아직 이르지 않았으나 너희의 때는 항상 준비되어 있느니라.

Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come： but your time is alway ready.

☞요7:7

세상은 너희를 미워할 수 없으나 나는 미워하나니, 이는 내가 세상에 관하여 그 일들이 악하다고 증거하기 때문이라.

The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.

☞요7:8

너희는 이 명절에 올라가라. 나는 아직 나의 때가 차지 않았기 때문에 이번 명절에는 아직 올라가지 않겠노라."고 하시더라.

Go ye up unto this feast： I go not up yet unto this feast： for my time is not yet full come.

☞요7:9

주께서 이 말들을 그들에게 하신 후 갈릴리에 머물러 계시더라.

When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee.

☞요7:10

그러나 그의 형제들이 올라간 후 주께서도 명절에 가셨으나 드러내지 아니하고 비밀리에 가시니라.

But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

☞요7:11

그러므로 유대인들이 명절에 주를 찾으며 "그가 어디 있느냐?"고 말하니라.

Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?

무리 가운데서 주에 관하여 수군거림이 많더라. 어떤 사람들은 말하기를 "그는 좋은 사람이라."고도 하며, 또 다른 사람들은 "아니라, 그는 무리를 미혹한다."고 말하더라.

And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him： for some said, He is a good man： others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.

☞요7:13

그러나 유대인들을 두려워하기 때문에 아무도 주에 관하여 드러나게 말하는 사람이 없더라.

Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.

☞요7:14

명절이 중간쯤 되었을 때 예수께서 성전으로 올라가 가르치시니

Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

☞요7:15

유대인들이 이상히 여겨 말하기를 "이 사람은 전혀 배운 적이 없는데 어떻게 글을 아는가?"라고 하더라.

And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?

☞요7:16

예수께서 그들에게 대답하여 말씀하시기를 "나의 교리는 나의 것이 아니요 나를 보내신 분의 것이라.

Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

☞요7:17

만일 누구든지 그 분의 뜻을 행하려고 한다면, 그 교리가 하나님으로부터 온 것인지 아니면 내가 내 자신에 관하여 말하는 것인지 알게 되리라.

If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

☞요7:18

자기 자신에 관하여 말하는 사람은 자신의 영광을 구하지만 보내신 분의 영광을 구하는 사람은 참되며 그 안에 아무 불의도 없느니라.

He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory： but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

☞요7:19

모세가 너희에게 율법을 주지 아니하였느냐? 그런데 너희 중에는 율법을 지키는 사람이 아무도 없도다. 너희가 어찌하여 나를 죽이려 하느냐?"고 하시니

Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?

☞요7:20

무리가 대답하여 말하기를 "네가 마귀가 들렸도다. 누가 너를 죽이려 하느냐?"고 하니라.

The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil： who goeth about to kill thee?

☞요7:21

예수께서 대답하여 그들에게 말씀하시기를 "내가 한 가지 일을 행하였는데 너희가 모두 이상히 여기는도다.

Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.

☞요7:22

그러므로 모세가 너희에게 할례를 주었으니 (그것은 모세로부터 온 것이 아니고 조상으로부터 온 것이기 때문이라.) 또 너희가 안식일에 사람에게 할례를 주는도다.

Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.

만일 어떤 사람이 모세의 율법을 범하지 않으려고 안식일에도 할례를 받거든 하물며 내가 어떤 사람을 안식일에 온전히 낫게 해 주었다고 해서 너희가 나에게 화를 내느냐?

If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?

☞요7:24

외모로 판단하지 말고 의로운 심판으로 판단하라."고 하시니라.

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

☞요7:25

그때 예루살렘의 몇몇 사람들이 말하기를 "이 사람은 그들이 죽이려고 하는 그 사람이 아니냐?

Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill?

☞요7:26

그런데, 보라, 그가 드러나게 말하여도 그들이 그에게 아무 말도 하지 아니하는도다. 관원들은 참으로 이 사람이 바로 그 그리스도인 줄 아는가?

But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?

☞요7:27

그러나 우리는 이 사람이 어디서 온 줄 알거니와 그리스도가 오실 때는 그가 어디서 오시는지 아무도 모르리라."고 하더라.

Howbeit we know this man whence he is： but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.

☞요7:28

그러므로 예수께서 성전에서 가르치실 때 외쳐 말씀하시기를 "너희는 다 함께 나를 알고, 또 내가 어디서 온 것도 알지만 나는 스스로 온 것이 아니니라. 나를 보내신 분은 참되시도다. 너희는 그 분을 알지 못하나

Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am： and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.

☞요7:29

나는 그 분을 아노라. 이는 내가 그 분에게서 왔고, 또 그 분이 나를 보내셨음이라."고 하시니라.

But I know him： for I am from him, and he hath sent me.

☞요7:30

그러므로 그들이 주를 잡으려고 하였으나 주께 손을 대는 자가 아무도 없었으니 이는 아직 그의 때가 이르지 않았기 때문이라.

Then they sought to take him： but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.

☞요7:31

그러나 무리 가운데서 많은 사람이 주를 믿고 말하기를 "그리스도가 온다 해도 이 사람이 행한 것보다 더 많은 기적을 행하시겠느냐?"고 하니라.

And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?

바리새인들은 무리가 주에 관하여 이런 일들로 수군거리는 것을 듣더라. 그리하여 바리새인들과 대제사장들이 주를 붙잡고자 경비병들을 보내더라.

The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.

☞요7:33

그러므로 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하시기를 "잠시 동안 내가 너희와 함께 있다가 나를 보내신 분께로 가노라.

Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me.

☞요7:34

너희는 나를 찾아도 만나지 못할 것이요, 또 내가 있는 곳에 올 수도 없느니라."고 하시니

Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me： and where I am, thither ye cannot come.

☞요7:35

유대인들이 자기들끼리 말하기를 "그가 어디로 가기에 우리가 그를 만나지 못한단 말인가? 이방인들 중에 흩어져 사는 사람들에게로 가서 이방인들을 가르칠 것인가?

Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?

☞요7:36

'너희가 나를 찾아도 만나지 못할 것이요, 또 내가 있는 곳에 올 수도 없느니라.'고 한 그의 이 말이 무슨 뜻인가?"라고 하더라.

What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me： and where I am, thither ye cannot come?

☞요7:37

그 명절의 가장 큰 날인 마지막 날에 예수께서 서서 외쳐 말씀하시기를 "누구든지 목마르거든 내게로 와서 마시라.

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

☞요7:38

나를 믿는 자는 성경이 말씀한 것과 같이 그의 배에서 생수의 강들이 흐르리라."고 하시니

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

☞요7:39

(이것은 주께서 자기를 믿는 사람들이 받게 될 성령을 말씀하신 것이라. 이는 예수께서 아직 영광을 받지 못하셨기 때문에 그들에게 아직 성령을 주지 아니하셨음이라.)

(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive： for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

☞요7:40

그러므로 무리 가운데서 많은 사람이 이 말씀을 듣고 말하기를 "참으로 이 사람은 그 선지자라."고 하더라.

Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.

☞요7:41

다른 사람들은 말하기를 "이 사람은 그리스도라."고 하나 또 어떤 사람들은 말하기를 "그리스도가 갈릴리에서 나올 수 있느냐?

Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?

☞요7:42

성경에 그리스도는 다윗의 씨에서 나오며, 또 다윗이 살던 베들레헴 마을에서 나온다고 말하지 아니하였느냐?"고 하더라.

Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?

☞요7:43

그러므로 그로 인하여 무리 가운데 분열이 생기니라.

So there was a division among the people because of him.
