☞요5:1 이 일 후에 유대인의 명절이 있어 예수께서 예루살렘으로 올라가시니라.
After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
☞요5:2 예루살렘에 있는 양시장 곁에 히브리어로 '베데스다'라고 하는 못이 있고 행각 다섯이 있더라.
Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
☞요5:3 그 안에는 수많은 병든 사람이 누워 있는데, 소경과 절름발이와 혈기 마른 자들이니 물이 움직이기를 기다리고 있더라.
In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
☞요5:4 이는 천사가 어떤 때 그 못에 내려와 물을 움직이게 하는데, 물이 움직일 때 먼저 들어간 사람은 어떤 병이 있든지 낫게 됨이라.
For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water： whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
☞요5:5 그런데 삼십팔 년 동안 병을 앓던 한 사람이 거기 있더라.
And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
☞요5:6 예수께서 이 사람이 누워 있는 것을 보시니, 그가 오랫동안 병든 줄 아신지라. 그에게 말씀하시기를 "네가 낫기를 원하느냐?"고 하시니
When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
☞요5:7 그 병든 사람이 대답하기를 "p주p여, 물이 움직일 때 나를 못에다 밀어 넣어 줄 사람이 없나이다. 그래서 내가 가는 도중에 다른 사람이 내 앞에 내려가나이다."라고 하니라.
The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool： but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
☞요5:8 예수께서 그에게 말씀하시기를 "일어나서 네 침상을 들고 걸어가라." 하시니
Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
☞요5:9 그 사람이 즉시 나은지라. 자기 침상을 들고 걸어가니 그 날은 안식일이더라.
And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked： and on the same day was the sabbath.
☞요5:10 그러므로 유대인들이 병고침을 받은 사람에게 말하기를 "안식일인데 네가 침상을 들고 가는 것이 합당치 아니하도다."라고 하니
The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day： it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
☞요5:11 그 사람이 그들에게 대답하기를 "나를 낫게 해 주신 그 분이 내게 말씀하시기를 '네 침상을 들고 걸어가라.'고 하더이다."라고 하더라.
He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
☞요5:12 그들이 그 사람에게 묻기를 "너에게 '네 침상을 들고 걸어가라.'고 한 그 사람이 누구냐?"고 하더라.
Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
☞요5:13 그러나 병고침을 받은 사람은 그가 누구인지 알지 못하였으니 이는 예수께서 그 곳에 사람들이 많으므로 자리를 뜨셨음이라.
And he that was healed wist not who it was： for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.
☞요5:14 그 후에 예수께서 그 사람을 성전에서 만나 그에게 말씀하시기를 "보라, 네가 나았도다. 더 악한 일이 네게 일어나지 않도록 이제는 더이상 죄를 짓지 말라."고 하시더라.
Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole： sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
☞요5:15 그 사람이 가서 유대인들에게 자기를 고쳐 준 사람은 예수였다고 말하더라.
The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.
☞요5:16 그러므로 유대인들이 예수를 박해하고 또 죽이려고 하였으니, 이는 주께서 이 일들을 안식일에 행하셨기 때문이라.
And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.
☞요5:17 그러나 예수께서 그들에게 대답하시기를 "나의 아버지께서 지금까지 일하시니 나도 일하노라."고 하시더라.
But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
☞요5:18 그러므로 유대인들이 그를 더욱 죽이려고 하니, 이는 그가 안식일을 범했을 뿐만 아니라 하나님을 자기의 아버지라고 말함으로써 자신을 하나님과 동등하게 여겼기 때문이라.
Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
☞요5:19 그때에 예수께서 대답하여 그들에게 말씀하시기를 "진실로 진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 아들은 스스로 아무것도 할 수 없으나 아버지께서 하시는 일을 본 것은 할 수 있나니, 아버지께서 하시는 일은 무엇이나 아들도 그와 같이 행하느니라.
Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do： for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
☞요5:20 이는 아버지께서 아들을 사랑하시어 친히 하신 모든 것들을 그에게 보여 주시며, 또 그 분께서는 이보다 더 위대한 일들을 보여 주시리니 이는 너희로 놀라게 하려 하심이라.
For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth： and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
☞요5:21 아버지께서 죽은 자를 일으켜 살리심같이 아들도 자기가 원하는 자들을 살리느니라.
For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
☞요5:22 아버지께서는 아무도 심판하지 아니하시고 모든 심판을 아들에게 맡기셨나니
For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son：
☞요5:23 이는 모든 사람이 아버지를 존경한 것과 마찬가지로 아들을 존경하게 하려 함이라. 그 아들을 존경하지 않는 자는 그를 보내신 아버지를 존경하지 않는 것이라.
That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
☞요5:24 진실로 진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 내 말을 듣고, 또 나를 보내신 분을 믿는 자는 영생을 얻고, 정죄에 이르지 아니할 것이며, 사망에서 생명으로 옮겨졌느니라.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
☞요5:25 진실로 진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 죽은 자들이 하나님의 아들의 음성을 들을 때가 오고 있나니 바로 지금이라. 듣는 자들은 살리라.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God： and they that hear shall live.
☞요5:26 아버지께서 자신 안에 생명을 지니신 것같이 아들에게도 생명을 주시어 아들 안에 지니게 하시니라.
For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
☞요5:27 또 아버지께서는 아들에게 심판하는 권세를 주셨으니 이는 그가 인자이심이라.
And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
☞요5:28 이를 이상하게 여기지 말라. 무덤들 속에 있는 모든 자들이 그의 음성을 들을 때가 오나니
Marvel not at this： for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
☞요5:29 선을 행한 자는 생명의 부활로, 악을 행한 자는 저주의 부활로 나오리라.
And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
☞요5:30 나는 아무것도 스스로 할 수 없노라. 나는 듣는 대로 심판하노라. 또 나의 심판이 의로운 것은 내가 나의 뜻을 구하지 아니하고 나를 보내신 아버지의 뜻을 구하기 때문이라.
I can of mine own self do nothing： as I hear, I judge： and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
☞요5:31 만일 내가 나 자신에 관하여 증거하면 나의 증거는 옳지 않은 것이라.
If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
☞요5:32 나에 관하여 증거하시는 다른 분이 계시니, 나는 그 분이 나에 관하여 증거하시는 그 증거가 옳은 줄 아노라.
There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.
☞요5:33 너희가 요한에게 사람을 보냈더니 그가 진리에 관하여 증거하였느니라.
Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth.
☞요5:34 그러나 나는 사람으로부터 증거를 받지 않지만 이 말을 하는 것은 너희로 구원을 받게 하려 함이라.
But I receive not testimony from man： but these things I say, that ye might be saved.
☞요5:35 요한은 불타며 빛나는 빛이었으니 너희가 잠시 그의 빛 안에서 즐거워하기를 원하였느니라.
He was a burning and a shining light： and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
☞요5:36 그러나 내게는 요한의 증거보다도 더 큰 증거가 있으니, 이는 아버지께서 내게 주셔서 완수하게 하신 일들이라. 내가 행하는 바로 그 일들이 나에 관한 증거니 곧 아버지께서 나를 보내셨다는 것이라.
But I have greater witness than that of John： for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.
☞요5:37 그리하여 나를 보내신 아버지께서 친히 나에 관하여 증거하셨느니라. 너희는 그 분의 음성을 들은 적도 없고 또한 그 분의 모습도 보지 못하였느니라.
And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
☞요5:38 또 너희 안에는 그 분의 말씀이 거하지 아니하나니, 이는 그 분이 보내신 이를 너희가 믿지 않기 때문이라.
And ye have not his word abiding in you： for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
☞요5:39 성경을 상고하라. 이는 너희가 성경에 영생이 있다고 생각함이니 그 성경은 나에 관하여 증거하고 있음이라.
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life： and they are they which testify of me.
☞요5:40 너희는 생명을 얻으려고 내게 오기를 원치 아니하는도다.
And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
☞요5:41 나는 사람들로부터 영광을 받지 아니하느니라.
I receive not honour from men.
☞요5:42 그러나 내가 너희를 아노니 너희 안에 하나님을 사랑함이 없다는 것이라.
But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
☞요5:43 내가 내 아버지의 이름으로 왔으나 너희가 나를 영접하지 아니하는도다. 만일 다른 이가 자기 이름으로 오면 너희는 그를 영접하리라.
I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not： if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
☞요5:44 너희가 서로 영광을 받으면서 오직 하나님으로부터 오는 영광은 구하지 아니하니, 어찌 나를 믿을 수 있겠느냐?
How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?
☞요5:45 내가 너희를 아버지께 고소하리라고 생각지 말라. 너희를 고소하는 사람이 있으니 너희가 소망을 두고 있는 모세라.
Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father： there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
☞요5:46 너희가 모세를 믿었다면 나를 믿었으리니 이는 그가 나에 관하여 기록하였기 때문이라.
For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me.
☞요5:47 그러나 만일 너희가 그의 글들을 믿지 않는다면 어떻게 나의 말들을 믿겠느냐?"고 하시니라.
But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
