But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

☞마18:7

실족케 하는 일로 인하여 세상에는 화가 있도다. 실족케 하는 일이 일어나는 것은 어쩔 수 없는 일이라 하여도 실족케 하는 그 사람에게는 화가 있도다.

Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

☞마18:8

그러므로 네 손이나 발이 너를 실족케 하거든 잘라서 던져 버리라. 두 손이나 두 발을 가지고 영원한 불에 던져지는 것보다 절름발이나 불구자로 생명에 들어가는 것이 너에게 더 나으니라.

Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee： it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

☞마18:9

또 네 눈이 너를 실족케 하거든 뽑아 던져 버리라. 두 눈을 가지고 지옥불에 던져지는 것보다 한 눈을 가지고 생명으로 들어가는 것이 더 나으니라.

And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee： it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

☞마18:10

너희는 이런 어린 아이들 중에 하나라도 업신여기지 않도록 주의하라. 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 하늘에 있는 그들의 천사들이 항상 하늘에 계신 내 아버지의 얼굴을 뵙고 있느니라.

Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

☞마18:11

인자가 온 것은 잃어 버린 자를 구원하려는 것이라.

For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

☞마18:12

너희는 어떻게 생각하느냐? 어떤 사람에게 양 일백 마리가 있는데 그 중 한 마리가 길을 잃었다면 아흔 아홉 마리를 두고 산으로 가서 그 길 잃은 양을 찾지 아니하겠느냐?

How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?

☞마18:13

진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 그가 그 양을 찾으면, 길을 잃지 않은 아흔 아홉 마리보다 그 양을 더 기뻐하리라.

And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

☞마18:14

이와 같이 이런 어린 아이들 가운데 하나라도 망하는 것은 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지의 뜻이 아니니라.

Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

☞마18:15

또 네 형제가 네게 죄를 짓거든 가서 너와 그 사람만 있을 때 그에게 그의 잘못을 일러주라. 만일 그가 네 말을 들으면 너는 네 형제를 얻은 것이라.

Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone： if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

☞마18:16

그러나 만일 그가 네 말을 듣지 아니하면 너 외에 한두 사람을 더 데리고 가서 두 세 증인의 입으로 모든 말을 입증하게 하라.

But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

☞마18:17

그래도 그가 말을 듣지 아니하거든 교회에다 말하고, 교회의 말도 듣지 아니하거든 그 사람을 이교도나 세리와 같이 여기라.

And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church： but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

☞마18:18

진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 무엇이든지 너희가 땅에서 묶으면 하늘에서도 묶일 것이요, 또 무엇이든지 너희가 땅에서 풀면 하늘에서도 풀어지리라.

Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven： and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

☞마18:19

다시 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 만일 너희 중에 두 사람이 무엇이든지 구할 것을 땅에서 합심하면 하늘에 계신 내 아버지께서 그들에게 이루어 주실 것이라.

Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

☞마18:20

두 세 사람이 내 이름으로 함께 모이는 곳에는 나도 그들 가운데 있느니라." 하시더라.

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

☞마18:21

그때 베드로가 주께 와서 말씀드리기를 "주님, 내 형제가 내게 죄를 지으면 몇 번이나 그를 용서해 주어야 하리이까? 일곱 번까지 하리이까?"라고 하니

Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

☞마18:22

예수께서 그에게 말씀하시기를 "나는 너에게 일곱 번까지라고 말하지 않고, 일흔 번씩 일곱 번까지라고 하노라.

Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times： but, Until seventy times seven.

☞마18:23

그러므로 천국은 마치 자기 종들과 계산을 하고자 하는 어떤 왕과 같으니라.

Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

☞마18:24

그 왕이 계산을 시작하니 일만 달란트 빚진 한 사람을 자기 앞에 데려왔더라.

And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

☞마18:25

그러나 그에게는 갚을 것이 없으므로 그의 주인이 그에게 명령하기를 그의 아내와 자식들과 그의 소유를 다 팔아서 빚을 갚으라고 하니

But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

☞마18:26

그 종이 왕 앞에 엎드려 경배하며 말하기를 '주여, 참아 주소서. 그러면 제가 다 갚겠나이다.'라고 하더라.

The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

☞마18:27

그러자 그 종의 주인이 그를 가엾게 여겨 풀어 주고 그 빚을 탕감해 주었더라.

Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

☞마18:28

그러나 그 종이 나가서 자기에게 일백 데나리온 빚진 동료 종 한 사람을 만났는데 그를 붙들어 멱살을 잡고 말하기를 '네 빚을 갚으라.'고 하더라.

But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence： and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.

☞마18:29

그러자 그의 동료 종이 그의 발 앞에 엎드려 그에게 간구하며 말하기를 '참아 주게. 그러면 내가 다 갚겠네.'라고 하나

And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

☞마18:30

그가 들어 주지 않고 오히려 가서, 빚진 것을 갚을 때까지 감옥에 집어 넣더라.

And he would not： but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

☞마18:31

그러므로 그의 동료 종들이 그 일어난 일을 보고 매우 딱하게 여겨 그들의 주인에게 가서 일어났던 일을 모두 말하였더라.

So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

☞마18:32

그때 그의 주인이 그를 불러서 말하기를 '오 악한 종아, 네가 나에게 애걸하기에 나는 네가 진 모든 빚을 탕감해 주었노라.

Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me：

☞마18:33

내가 너를 불쌍히 여김같이 너도 네 동료 종을 불쌍히 여기는 것이 당연하지 아니하냐?' 하며

Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

☞마18:34

그의 주인이 화가 나서 그 사람이 자기에게 진 빚을 다 갚을 때까지 형리들에게 넘겨주더라.

And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

☞마18:35

그러므로 이와 같이 너희들이 진심에서 우러나와 형제 각 사람을 그들의 잘못과 더불어 용서하지 않으면 나의 하늘에 계신 아버지께서도 너희들에게 그렇게 하시리라."하시더라.

So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
