☞롬7:1

형제들아, (내가 율법을 아는 자들에게 말하노니,) 율법은 그가 살아 있는 동안에만 그 사람을 주관하는 것을 알지 못하느냐?

Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?

☞롬7:2

남편이 있는 여인은 그 남편이 살아 있는 한 그에게 법으로 매여 있으나 그가 죽으면 그녀는 그 남편의 법에서 벗어나느니라.

For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.

☞롬7:3

그러므로 남편이 살아 있는 동안에 다른 남자와 혼인하면 간음한 여인이라 불리지만 그녀의 남편이 죽으면 그 법에서 해방되므로 다른 남자와 혼인하더라도 간음한 여인이 아니니라.

So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress： but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

나의 형제들아, 이런 연유로 너희도 그리스도의 몸으로 인하여 율법에는 죽었나니, 이는 너희로 다른 사람, 즉 죽은 자들로부터 일으켜지신 그와 혼인하게 하려는 것이요, 그리하여 우리로 하나님께 열매를 맺게 하려는 것이니라.

Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

이는 우리가 육신 안에 있었을 때에는 죄들의 정욕이 율법을 통하여 우리의 지체 속에서 역사하여 사망에 이르는 열매를 맺었으나

For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

☞롬7:6

이제는 우리가 붙잡혔던 것에서 죽었으므로 율법에서부터 구제되었으니, 우리가 영의 새로움으로 섬길 것이요 법문의 낡은 것으로 섬기지 아니할 것이라.

But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

☞롬7:7

그런즉 우리가 무슨 말을 하리요? 율법이 죄냐? 결코 그럴 수 없느니라. 율법에 의하지 아니하고서는 내가 죄를 알지 못하였으니, 곧 율법이 '너는 탐내지 말지니라.' 하지 아니하였더라면 내가 정욕을 알지 못하였으리라.

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law： for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

그러나 죄가 계명을 통하여 기회를 잡아 내 안에서 온갖 색욕을 일으켰느니라. 이는 율법이 없으면 죄는 죽은 것임이라.

But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.

☞롬7:9

내가 전에는 율법없이 살았으나, 계명이 오자 죄는 살아나고 나는 죽었느니라.

For I was alive without the law once： but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

☞롬7:10

생명에 이르게 하는 그 계명이 도리어 나를 사망에 이르게 하는 것으로 판명되었도다.

And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.

☞롬7:11

죄가 계명을 통하여 기회를 잡아 나를 속이고 또 그것으로 나를 죽였느니라.

For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

☞롬7:12

그러므로 율법도 참으로 거룩하며, 계명도 거룩하고 의로우며 선하도다.

Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

☞롬7:13

그러면 선한 것이 나에게 사망이 되었느냐? 결코 그럴 수 없느니라. 다만 죄가 죄로 드러나기 위해 선한 그것으로 인하여 나에게 사망을 이루었으니, 이는 계명에 의한 죄가 심히 죄 많게 되게 하려는 것이라.

Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.

☞롬7:14

우리는 율법이 영적인 것인 줄 알고 있노라. 그러나 나는 육신적이어서 죄 아래 팔렸도다.

For we know that the law is spiritual： but I am carnal, sold under sin.

☞롬7:15

내가 행하는 것을 내가 알지 못하노니, 이는 내가 원하는 것은 행하지 아니하고 오히려 내가 미워하는 것을 행하고 있음이라.

For that which I do I allow not： for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

☞롬7:16

만일 내가 원치 않는 것을 행하면 내가 율법이 선하다는 것에 동의하노라.

If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.

☞롬7:17

그러나 이제는 그것을 행하는 자가 더이상 내가 아니요 내 속에 거하는 죄니라.

Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

☞롬7:18

내 안에 (곧 내 육신 안에는) 선한 것이 거하지 않는 줄을 내가 아노니, 원함은 내게 있으나 선한 것을 어떻게 행하는 것인지는 알지 못하노라.

For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing： for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

☞롬7:19

내가 원하는 선은 행하지 않고 원치 않는 악을 행하는도다.

For the good that I would I do not： but the evil which I would not, that I do.

☞롬7:20

이제 만일 내가 원치 않는 것을 행하면 그것을 행하는 것은 더이상 내가 아니요 내 속에 거하는 죄니라.

Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

☞롬7:21

그리하여 내가 한 법을 발견하노니, 그것은 내가 선을 행하고자 할 때 악이 나와 함께 있다는 것이라.

I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

☞롬7:22

내가 속 사람을 따라 하나님의 법을 즐거워하나

For I delight in the law of God after the inward man：
