| ☞전6:1 | 내가 해 아래서 한 가지 악을 보았는데, 이는 사람들 사이에 흔한 것이라. There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it is common among men： | |||
| ☞전6:2 | 하나님께서 어떤 사람에게 재산과 부요와 존귀를 주셔서 그가 바라는 모든 것에 그의 혼을 위해 아무것도 부족함이 없게 하셨도다. 그러나 하나님께서 그에게 그것을 향유할 능력을 주지 않으시므로 타인이 그것을 향유하니, 이것도 헛되고 악한 병이니라. A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eateth it： this is vanity, and it is an evil disease. | |||
| ☞전6:3 | 만일 사람이 일백 자녀를 낳고 여러 해를 살며 그의 연수가 많을지라도 그의 혼이 낙으로 채워지지 못하고 또 그가 장사되지 못한다면, 내가 말하노니 낙태된 자가 그보다 나으니라. If a man beget an hundred children, and live many years, so that the days of his years be many, and his soul be not filled with good, and also that he have no burial; I say, that an untimely birth is better than he. | |||
| ☞전6:4 | 이는 그가 헛되이 왔다가 어두움 속에서 떠나니 그의 이름이 어두움에 덮일 것임이라. For he cometh in with vanity, and departeth in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness. | |||
| ☞전6:5 | 더군다나 그는 해를 보지 못하였고 아무것도 알지 못했으니, 이 자가 다른 이보다 더 편안하니라. Moreover he hath not seen the sun, nor known any thing： this hath more rest than the other. | |||
| ☞전6:6 | 정녕, 그가 천 년의 두 배를 산다 해도 그가 아무런 낙을 누리지 못하였으니, 모두가 한 곳으로 가지 않느냐? Yea, though he live a thousand years twice told, yet hath he seen no good： do not all go to one place? | |||
| ☞전6:7 | 사람의 모든 수고는 자기 입을 위한 것이지만 식욕은 채워지지 않는도다. All the labour of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled. | |||
| ☞전6:8 | 현명한 사람이 어리석은 사람보다 더 가진 것이 무엇이냐? 산 사람 앞에서 행할 줄 아는 가난한 사람은 무엇을 갖겠느냐? For what hath the wise more than the fool? what hath the poor, that knoweth to walk before the living? | |||
| ☞전6:9 | 눈으로 보는 것이 마음의 공상보다 나으나, 이것도 헛되어 영의 고통이라. Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire： this is also vanity and vexation of spirit. | |||
| ☞전6:10 | 지금까지 존재했던 것은 이미 이름이 지어져 있으며, 그가 사람이란 것도 이미 알려진 것이라. 아무도 자기보다 더 강한 자와는 다툴 수 없느니라. That which hath been is named already, and it is known that it is man： neither may he contend with him that is mightier than he. | |||
| ☞전6:11 | 헛된 것을 증대시키는 많은 것이 있음을 보나니 사람이 더 나은 것이 무엇이냐? Seeing there be many things that increase vanity, what is man the better? | |||
| ☞전6:12 | 그가 그림자처럼 허비한 헛된 인생의 모든 날인 이 생애에서 인간에게 무엇이 좋은지 누가 알며, 해 아래서 그 뒤에 무슨 일이 있을지 누가 그에게 말해 줄 수 있으리요? For who knoweth what is good for man in this life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun? | |||
