| ☞전5:1 | 네가 하나님의 전에 들어갈 때 네 발을 조심하라. 가까이 다가가 듣는 것이 어리석은 자들의 희생제보다 나으니, 이는 그들은 악을 행한다고 생각하지 않음이라. Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools： for they consider not that they do evil. | |||
| ☞전5:2 | 너는 함부로 입을 열지 말며 하나님 앞에서 마음이 조급하게 되어 말을 내지 말라. 하나님은 하늘에 계시고 너는 땅에 있음이라. 그러므로 네 말수를 거의 없게 할지어다. Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God： for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth： therefore let thy words be few. | |||
| ☞전5:3 | 꿈은 일의 많음으로 인하여 오나니 어리석은 자의 음성도 말이 많음으로 알려지느니라. For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words. | |||
| ☞전5:4 | 네가 하나님께 서원하면 갚는 것을 미루지 말라. 그는 어리석은 자들을 기뻐하지 않으시나니 네가 서원한 것을 갚으라. When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools： pay that which thou hast vowed. | |||
| ☞전5:5 | 네가 서원하고 갚지 않는 것보다 서원하지 않는 것이 더 나으니라. Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay. | |||
| ☞전5:6 | 네 입으로 네 육체를 죄짓게 하지 말며, 너는 그 천사 앞에서 그것은 실수였다고 말하지 말라. 어찌하여 하나님께서 네 음성에 화내셔야 하며 네 손으로 한 일을 멸하셔야 하겠느냐? Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error： wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands? | |||
| ☞전5:7 | 꿈이 많고 말이 많은 데는 헛된 것들도 또한 많도다. 그러나 너는 하나님을 두려워하라. For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities： but fear thou God. | |||
| ☞전5:8 | 네가 어느 지역에서 가난한 자들을 압제함과 재판과 정의를 심하게 왜곡시키는 것을 볼지라도 그 일을 이상히 여기지 말라. 가장 높은 자보다 더 높은 이가 지켜보시며 그들보다 더 높은 이가 있음이라. If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter： for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they. | |||
| ☞전5:9 | 더군다나 땅의 이익은 모두를 위한 것이니 왕 자신도 밭의 소산을 받느니라. Moreover the profit of the earth is for all： the king himself is served by the field. | |||
| ☞전5:10 | 은을 사랑하는 자는 은으로 만족하지 못하며 풍요를 사랑하는 자는 증식으로 만족함이 없나니 이것도 헛되도다. He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase： this is also vanity. | |||
| ☞전5:11 | 재산이 늘어나면 그것들을 먹는 자들도 늘어나나니 그러므로 그 소유자들이 자기들의 눈으로 먹는 자들을 보는 것 외에 그들에게 무엇이 유익하리요? When goods increase, they are increased that eat them： and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes? | |||
| ☞전5:12 | 노동자의 잠은 그가 적게 먹든지 많이 먹든지 간에 달지만 부자의 풍부함은 그로 하여금 자지 못하게 하느니라. The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much： but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep. | |||
| ☞전5:13 | 내가 해 아래서 심한 악이 있음을 보았나니, 곧 소유주들을 위해 간수된 재물이 그들에게 해가 되는 것이라. There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt. | |||
| ☞전5:14 | 그러한 재물이 악한 수고로 말미암아 망하나니 그가 아들을 낳아도 그의 손에 아무것도 없느니라. But those riches perish by evil travail： and he begetteth a son, and there is nothing in his hand. | |||
| ☞전5:15 | 그가 모태에서 나올 때 벌거벗었으니 그가 왔던 그대로 돌아가며 수고하여 얻은 것은 아무것도 손에 가지고 가지 못하리라. As he came forth of his mother's womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand. | |||
| ☞전5:16 | 이것 역시 심한 악이라. 그가 왔던 그대로 가리니 바람을 위해 수고한 그에게 무슨 이익이 있으랴? And this also is a sore evil, that in all points as he came, so shall he go： and what profit hath he that hath laboured for the wind? | |||
| ☞전5:17 | 그가 또한 평생을 어두움 속에서 먹으며, 많은 슬픔과 분노가 그의 병과 더불어 있노라. All his days also he eateth in darkness, and he hath much sorrow and wrath with his sickness. | |||
| ☞전5:18 | 내가 보았던 것을 보라. 사람이 먹고 마시며 그가 평생 동안 해 아래서 얻은 그의 모든 수고의 유익을 누리는 것이 선하고 온당하도다. 이는 하나님께서 그에게 주신 것이니 그의 몫이라. Behold that which I have seen： it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him： for it is his portion. | |||
| ☞전5:19 | 하나님께서는 또한 모든 사람에게 재산과 부요를 주셨으며 능력을 주시어 먹게 하시고 그의 몫을 갖게 하시고 그의 수고함으로 즐거워하게 하셨으니 이것이 하나님의 선물이라. Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God. | |||
| ☞전5:20 | 그가 자기 생애의 날들을 많이 기억하지 못하리니, 이는 하나님께서 그의 마음의 기쁨으로 그에게 응답하시기 때문이라. For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God answereth him in the joy of his heart. | |||
