| ☞느5:1 | 그때 백성과 그들의 아내들이 그들의 형제 유대인들에 대하여 크게 울부짖었으니 And there was a great cry of the people and of their wives against their brethren the Jews. | |||
| ☞느5:2 | 어떤 이들은 "우리와 우리의 아들들과 딸들이 많으므로, 우리가 그들을 위하여 곡식을 얻어 먹고 살아야겠노라." 하고 For there were that said, We, our sons, and our daughters, are many： therefore we take up corn for them, that we may eat, and live. | |||
| ☞느5:3 | 또 어떤 이들은 "기근으로 인하여 우리가 곡식을 사기 위해 우리의 땅과 포도원과 집을 저당잡혔노라." 하며 Some also there were that said, We have mortgaged our lands, vineyards, and houses, that we might buy corn, because of the dearth. | |||
| ☞느5:4 | 또 어떤 이들은 "우리가 왕의 세금을 위하여 우리의 땅과 포도원을 잡혀서 돈을 빌렸노라. There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king's tribute, and that upon our lands and vineyards. | |||
| ☞느5:5 | 우리의 육신이 우리 형제의 육신과 같고 우리 자녀가 그들의 자녀와 같은데, 보라, 우리가 우리 아들들과 딸들을 종이 되도록 노예로 팔았고, 우리 딸들 중 얼마는 이미 노예가 되었으나, 그들을 속량할 능력이 우리에게 없으니 이는 다른 사람들이 우리의 땅과 포도원을 가지고 있음이라." 하더라. Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children： and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants, and some of our daughters are brought unto bondage already： neither is it in our power to redeem them; for other men have our lands and vineyards. | |||
| ☞느5:6 | 내가 그들의 부르짖음과 그런 말을 듣고 심히 분노하여 And I was very angry when I heard their cry and these words. | |||
| ☞느5:7 | 숙고한 후에 귀족들과 치리자들을 꾸짖어 그들에게 말하기를 "너희가 각자 자기 형제에게서 고리를 거두는도다." 하고, 그들에 대하여 큰 집회를 열어 Then I consulted with myself, and I rebuked the nobles, and the rulers, and said unto them, Ye exact usury, every one of his brother. And I set a great assembly against them. | |||
| ☞느5:8 | 그들에게 말하기를 "우리가 이방에 팔렸던 우리 형제 유대인을 우리 힘으로 속량하였거늘, 너희는 너희 형제를 팔고자 하느냐? 아니면 그들로 우리에게 팔리도록 하겠느냐?" 하니 그들이 잠잠하고 대답할 말을 찾지 못하더라. And I said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, which were sold unto the heathen; and will ye even sell your brethren? or shall they be sold unto us? Then held they their peace, and found nothing to answer. | |||
| ☞느5:9 | 내가 또 말하기를 "너희가 행하는 것이 좋지 않도다. 우리의 원수 이방의 비난 때문에라도 너희가 우리 하나님을 두려워함으로 행해야 하지 않겠느냐? Also I said, It is not good that ye do： ought ye not to walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the heathen our enemies? | |||
| ☞느5:10 | 나와 내 형제와 내 부하들도 마찬가지로 그들에게서 돈과 곡식을 거두어들일 수도 있도다. 내가 청하노니 우리가 이 고리대금업을 그만두자. I likewise, and my brethren, and my servants, might exact of them money and corn： I pray you, let us leave off this usury. | |||
| ☞느5:11 | 내가 청하노니, 오늘 그들에게 그들의 땅, 포도원, 올리브 밭과, 집들을 돌려주고, 너희가 그들에게서 거둬들인 돈과 곡식과 포도주와 기름의 백분의 일도 돌려주라." 하니 Restore, I pray you, to them, even this day, their lands, their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses, also the hundredth part of the money, and of the corn, the wine, and the oil, that ye exact of them. | |||
| ☞느5:12 | 그들이 말하기를 "우리가 그들에게 돌려주고 그들에게서 아무것도 요구하지 아니하리이다. 우리가 당신이 말씀하신 대로 행하리이다." 하더라. 이에 내가 제사장들을 불러 그들이 이 약속대로 행하리라는 맹세를 그들로부터 받게 하였더라. Then said they, We will restore them, and will require nothing of them; so will we do as thou sayest. Then I called the priests, and took an oath of them, that they should do according to this promise. | |||
| ☞느5:13 | 또 내가 옷자락을 떨치며 말하기를 "이 약속을 이행하지 않는 자는 하나님께서도 그 분의 집과 노역에서 이같이 떨쳐 내시리니, 그가 그렇게 떨쳐져 비게 되리라." 하니 온 회중이 "아멘." 하고 주를 찬양하더라. 백성이 이 약속에 따라 행하였더라. Also I shook my lap, and said, So God shake out every man from his house, and from his labour, that performeth not this promise, even thus be he shaken out, and emptied. And all the congregation said, Amen, and praised the LORD. And the people did according to this promise. | |||
| ☞느5:14 | 또 내가 유다 땅에 그들의 총독으로 임명을 받은 때로부터, 즉 아탁세르세스왕 제 이십년부터 삼십이년까지 십이 년 동안 나와 나의 형제들이 총독의 빵을 먹지 아니하였더라. Moreover from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year even unto the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that is, twelve years, I and my brethren have not eaten the bread of the governor. | |||
| ☞느5:15 | 그러나 내 앞서 있던 이전 총독들은 백성에게 토색하여 은 사십 세켈 외에도 양식과 포도주를 착취하고 그의 부하들까지도 백성들을 압제하였으나, 내가 하나님을 두려워함으로 인하여 그렇게 행하지 아니하였더라. But the former governors that had been before me were chargeable unto the people, and had taken of them bread and wine, beside forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servants bare rule over the people： but so did not I, because of the fear of God. | |||
| ☞느5:16 | 내가 실로 이 성벽의 공사를 지속하였고, 우리가 어떤 땅도 사지 아니하였으며, 나의 모든 부하들도 공사에 모였더라. Yea, also I continued in the work of this wall, neither bought we any land： and all my servants were gathered thither unto the work. | |||
| ☞느5:17 | 또 내 상에는 우리 주위의 이방 가운데서 우리에게 온 자들 외에도 유대인들과 치리자들 일백오십 명이 있었으니 Moreover there were at my table an hundred and fifty of the Jews and rulers, beside those that came unto us from among the heathen that are about us. | |||
| ☞느5:18 | 날마다 나를 위하여 마련된 상에는 수소 하나와 좋은 양 여섯과, 또 나를 위하여 날짐승들도 마련되었고, 열흘에 한번은 모든 종류의 포도주가 갖추어졌더라. 이 모든 것에도 내가 총독의 빵을 요구하지 아니하였으니, 이는 이 백성에게 지우는 속박이 무거웠음이더라. Now that which was prepared for me daily was one ox and six choice sheep; also fowls were prepared for me, and once in ten days store of all sorts of wine： yet for all this required not I the bread of the governor, because the bondage was heavy upon this people. | |||
| ☞느5:19 | 나의 하나님이여, 내가 이 백성을 위하여 행한 모든 것을 따라 선한 것으로 나를 생각하소서. Think upon me, my God, for good, according to all that I have done for this people. | |||
