☞단4:1 느부캇넷살왕이 온 땅에 살고 있는 모든 백성과 민족들과 언어들에게 이렇게 말하더라. "너희에게 평강이 더할지어다.
Nebuchadnezzar the king, unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.
☞단4:2 나는 높으신 하나님께서 나에게 행하신 표적과 기사를 알리는 것이 좋다고 생각했노라.
I thought it good to shew the signs and wonders that the high God hath wrought toward me.
☞단4:3 그 분의 표적이 얼마나 위대하며 그 분의 기사가 얼마나 능력이 있는가! 그 분의 왕국은 영원한 왕국이요, 그 분의 통치권은 대대에 이르리로다.
How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.
☞단4:4 나 느부캇넷살은 내 집에서 쉬고 내 궁에서 번영을 누리고 있는 중에
I Nebuchadnezzar was at rest in mine house, and flourishing in my palace：
☞단4:5 나를 무섭게 하는 한 꿈을 보았는데, 내 침상에서의 생각과 내 머리의 환상이 나를 번민케 하였노라.
I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.
☞단4:6 그러므로 내가 한 칙령을 내려 바빌론의 모든 현자를 내 앞에 불러다가 그들로 그 꿈의 해석을 내게 알리도록 하였더니,
Therefore made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.
☞단4:7 그때에 마술사들과 점성가들과 칼데아인들과 점쟁이들이 왔기에 내가 그 꿈을 그들 앞에 말하였으나 그들이 내게 그 해석을 알려 주지 못하였느니라.
Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers： and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.
☞단4:8 그러나 마지막에 다니엘이 내 앞에 들어왔으니 그의 이름은 내 신의 이름을 따라 벨트사살이요, 그의 안에는 거룩한 신들의 영이 있도다. 그러므로 내가 그에게 그 꿈을 설명하여 말하기를
But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my God, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods： and before him I told the dream, saying,
☞단4:9 '오 마술사들의 우두머리인 벨트사살아, 네 안에는 거룩한 신들의 영이 있어 어떤 은밀한 것이라도 너를 두렵게 하지 못하는 줄 내가 아노니, 내가 본 내 꿈의 환상들과 그 해석을 내게 말하라.
O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.
☞단4:10 내 침상에서 본 내 머리의 환상은 이러하니라. 내가 보니, 보라, 땅의 한가운데에 한 나무가 있는데 그 높이가 크더라.
Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great.
☞단4:11 그 나무가 자라서 견고하게 되고 그 높이가 하늘에 닿았는데, 그 모양은 땅 끝까지 이르렀고
The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth：
☞단4:12 그 잎사귀들은 아름다우며 그 열매는 많아서 만민을 위한 식물이 되었고 들의 짐승들도 그 그늘 아래 있으며 공중의 새들도 그 가지에 깃들이고, 모든 생물이 그것을 먹더라.
The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all： the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.
☞단4:13 내가 내 침상에서 내 머리의 환상들을 보니, 보라, 한 파수꾼과 한 거룩한 이가 하늘에서 내려왔는데
I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;
☞단4:14 그가 크게 외쳐 이렇게 말하기를, 그 나무를 베고 그 가지를 자르고 그 잎사귀를 흔들어 떨며 그 열매를 흩어 짐승들로 그 아래에서 떠나게 하고 새들도 그 가지에서 떠나게 하라.
He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit： let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches：
☞단4:15 그러나 그 뿌리의 그루터기는 땅에 남겨 두어 철과 놋의 줄로 동이고 들의 부드러운 풀 속에 두어 하늘의 이슬로 젖게 하며, 그의 분깃은 땅의 풀에 있는 짐승들과 함께 있게 하라.
Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth：
☞단4:16 또 그의 마음을 인간의 마음으로부터 변하게 하며 짐승의 마음을 그에게 주어서 일곱 때로 그에게 지나가게 하라.
Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.
☞단4:17 이 일은 파수꾼들의 칙령에 의한 것이요, 거룩한 자들의 말에 의한 요구니, 이는 사람들로 하여금 지극히 높으신 분이 인간들의 왕국을 다스리시며 그 분께서 원하는 자에게 그것을 주시고, 또 인간의 가장 천한 자로 그 위에 세우시는 줄을 알게 하시려는 의도니라 하였느니라.
This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones： to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.
☞단4:18 나 느부캇넷살왕이 이 꿈을 보았느니라. 이제 오 너 벨트사살아, 그 해석을 공포하라. 내 왕국의 모든 현자가 그 해석을 내게 알려 줄 수 없었으나 너는 할 수 있으리니, 이는 거룩한 신들의 영이 네 안에 있음이라.' 하였느니라.
This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation： but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.
☞단4:19 그러자 그 이름이 벨트사살인 다니엘이 잠시 놀랐으며 그의 생각이 그를 번민케 하였느니라. 왕이 일러 말하기를 '벨트사살아, 그 꿈과 그 해석으로 너는 번민하지 말라.' 하니, 벨트사살이 대답하여 말하기를 '내 주여, 그 꿈이 왕을 미워하는 자들에게 있게 되기를 원하며 그 해석이 왕의 적들에게 있게 되기를 원하나이다.
Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.
☞단4:20 왕께서 보신 그 나무가 자라서 견고하게 되고 그 높이가 하늘에 닿았는데, 그 모양은 온 땅에 이르렀고
The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth;
☞단4:21 그의 잎사귀들은 아름다우며 그 열매는 많아서 만민을 위한 식량이 되며 들의 짐승들이 그 아래 거하며 공중의 새들이 그 가지들에 거처를 삼았나이다.
Whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation：
☞단4:22 오 왕이여, 그것은 왕이시오니, 곧 왕께서 자라서 견고해지심이라. 이는 왕의 위대하심이 자라서 하늘에 닿고 왕의 통치력이 땅 끝까지 미침이니이다.
It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong： for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.
☞단4:23 또 왕께서 보셨으니 하늘에서 한 파수꾼과 한 거룩한 이가 내려와 말하기를, 그 나무를 베고 그것을 멸하라. 그러나 그 뿌리의 그루터기는 땅에 남겨 두어 철과 놋의 줄로 동이고 들의 부드러운 풀 속에 두어 하늘의 이슬로 젖게 하며 그의 분깃이 들의 짐승들과 함께 있게 하여 일곱 때가 그를 지날 때까지 두라 하였으니
And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;
☞단4:24 오 왕이여, 그 해석은 이러하니이다. 즉 지극히 높으신 분의 칙령이 이것이니, 내 주 왕께 미치는 것이니이다.
This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king：
☞단4:25 그들이 왕을 사람들로부터 쫓아내니 왕의 거처가 들의 짐승들과 함께 있게 되리이다. 또 그들이 왕을 소처럼 풀을 먹게 할 것이요, 하늘의 이슬로 왕을 젖게 할 것이며, 일곱 때가 왕에게 지나고 나서야 왕께서 지극히 높으신 분께서 인간들의 왕국을 다스리시며, 그분께서 원하시는 자에게 그것을 주신다는 것을 아시리이다.
That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
☞단4:26 또 그들이 나무 뿌리의 그루터기를 남겨 두라고 명령하였으니, 왕의 왕국은 왕께서 하늘들이 다스리는 것을 안 후에야 왕에게 견고하게 서리이다.
And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule.
☞단4:27 그러므로, 오 왕이여, 나의 권고를 받아 주시어 의로운 행위로 왕의 죄들을 단절하시고 가난한 자들에게 자비를 베푸심으로 죄악을 끊으소서. 혹시 왕의 평안이 길어지리이다.' 하였느니라.
Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.
☞단4:28 이 모든 일이 느부캇넷살왕에게 임하였느니라.
All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.
☞단4:29 열두 달의 마지막에 그가 바빌론 왕국의 궁을 거닐나가
At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.
☞단4:30 그가 일러 말하기를 '이것이 내가 내 권세의 힘으로 내 위엄의 영예를 위하여 왕국의 집을 건설한 위대한 바빌론이 아니냐?' 하였더니
The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?
☞단4:31 그 말이 왕의 입에 아직 있는데 하늘에서 한 음성이 내려 말씀하시기를 '오 느부캇넷살왕아, 네게 말하노니 그 왕국이 네게서 떠났느니라.
While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.
☞단4:32 그들이 너를 사람들로부터 쫓아내리니, 너의 거처가 들의 짐승들과 함께 있게 되리라. 또 그들이 너를 소처럼 풀을 먹게 할 것이요, 일곱 때가 너에게 지나고 나서야 너는 지극히 높으신 분께서 인간들의 왕국을 다스리시며 그 분께서 원하시는 자에게 그것을 주신다는 것을 알게 되리라.' 하였느니라.
And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field： they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
☞단4:33 그 시간에 그 일이 느부캇넷살에게 이루어졌으니, 그가 사람들에게서 쫓겨나서 소처럼 풀을 먹고 그의 몸이 하늘의 이슬로 젖었으며, 그의 머리털은 독수리의 그것같이 자랐고 그의 손톱은 새들의 발톱과 같이 되었느니라.
The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar： and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.
☞단4:34 그 날들의 마지막에 나 느부캇넷살이 하늘을 향해 내 눈을 들었더니 내 명철이 내게 다시 돌아왔고 내가 지극히 높으신 분을 송축하며 영원히 사시는 분을 찬양하고 존경하였으니, 그 분의 통치권은 영원한 통치권이요 그 분의 왕국은 대대에 이르리로다.
And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation：
☞단4:35 땅의 모든 거민은 아무것도 아닌 것으로 여겨지나, 그 분께서는 하늘의 군대에 있어서나 땅의 거민 가운데서나 자신의 뜻에 따라 행하시나니, 그 분의 손을 치거나 그 분께 말하기를 '당신은 무엇을 하는가?' 할 자가 아무도 없느니라.
And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing： and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth： and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?
☞단4:36 바로 그때에 내 이성이 내게 돌아왔고, 또 내 왕국의 영광에 대하여도 내 위엄과 빛남이 내게로 돌아왔으며, 또 나의 자문관들과 귀족들이 나를 찾았으니 내가 내 왕국에서 세움을 받았고 훌륭한 위엄이 내게 더해졌느니라.
At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.
☞단4:37 이제 나 느부캇넷살이 하늘의 왕을 찬양하고 칭송하고 존경하노니, 그 분의 모든 일은 진리이고 그의 길들은 공의로우시니 교만하게 행하는 자들을 그 분께서 능히 낮추시느니라."
Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment： and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.
