| ☞에6:1 | 그 날 밤에 왕이 잠을 이룰 수 없으므로 역대의 기록을 가져오도록 명한지라, 신하들이 왕 앞에서 읽었는데 On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king. | |||
| ☞에6:2 | 모르드캐가 아하수에로왕을 죽이려 하였던, 문지기이자 왕의 내시인 두 사람, 즉 빅다나와 테레스를 고발한 사실이 기록되어 있는 것이 발견되었더라. And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus. | |||
| ☞에6:3 | 왕이 말하기를 "이 일로 인하여 모르드캐에게 어떤 영예와 직위를 베풀었느냐?" 하니 왕을 섬기는 왕의 신하들이 말하기를 "그에게 아무것도 베풀지 아니하였나이다." 하더라. And the king said, What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him. | |||
| ☞에6:4 | 왕이 말하기를 "누가 뜰에 있느냐?" 하니 그때 하만이 왕궁의 바깥 뜰에 왔으니, 이는 자기가 마련한 교수대에 모르드캐를 매달기를 왕에게 구하려 함이더라. And the king said, Who is in the court? Now Haman was come into the outward court of the king's house, to speak unto the king to hang Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him. | |||
| ☞에6:5 | 왕의 신하가 왕에게 고하기를 "보소서, 하만이 뜰에 서 있나이다." 하니 왕이 말하기를 "그를 들어오게 하라." 하더라. And the king's servants said unto him, Behold, Haman standeth in the court. And the king said, Let him come in. | |||
| ☞에6:6 | 그리하여 하만이 들어오니, 왕이 그에게 말하기를 "왕이 영예 주기를 기뻐하는 사람에게 어떻게 해야겠느냐?" 하니 하만이 속으로 생각하기를 "왕이 나 말고 누구에게 영예 주기를 기뻐하랴?" 하고 So Haman came in. And the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour? Now Haman thought in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honour more than to myself? | |||
| ☞에6:7 | 하만이 왕에게 대답하기를 "왕께서 영예 주기를 기뻐하시는 사람에게는 And Haman answered the king, For the man whom the king delighteth to honour, | |||
| ☞에6:8 | 왕께서 입으시는 왕복과, 왕이 타시는 말과, 왕의 머리에 쓰신 왕관을 가져다가 Let the royal apparel be brought which the king useth to wear, and the horse that the king rideth upon, and the crown royal which is set upon his head： | |||
| ☞에6:9 | 그 왕복과 말을 왕의 지극히 존귀한 고관들 중 한 사람의 손에 넘겨 주시어, 그들로 왕께서 영예 주기를 기뻐하시는 그 사람에게 치장하여 말에 태워 성읍 거리로 다니며 그 앞에서 선포하기를 '왕께서 영예 주기를 기뻐하시는 사람에게는 이같이 행할 것이라.' 하게 하소서." 하니 And let this apparel and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king's most noble princes, that they may array the man withal whom the king delighteth to honour, and bring him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaim before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delighteth to honour. | |||
| ☞에6:10 | 왕이 하만에게 말하기를 "너는 서둘러 왕복과 말을 가져다가 네가 말한 대로 왕의 성문에 앉아 있는 유대인 모르드캐에게 그렇게 행하되, 네가 말한 모든 것에서 전혀 빠짐이 없게 하라." 하더라. Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel and the horse, as thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king's gate： let nothing fail of all that thou hast spoken. | |||
| ☞에6:11 | 그리하여 하만이 왕복과 말을 가져다가 모르드캐에게 치장하여 말에 태워 성읍의 거리를 다니며 그 앞에서 선포하기를 "왕께서 영예 주기를 기뻐하시는 사람에게는 이같이 행할 것이라." 하였더라. Then took Haman the apparel and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and brought him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaimed before him, Thus shall it be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour. | |||
| ☞에6:12 | 모르드캐는 다시 왕의 대문으로 돌아갔으나, 하만은 자기 머리를 싸매고 슬퍼하며 급히 자기 집으로 돌아가서 And Mordecai came again to the king's gate. But Haman hasted to his house mourning, and having his head covered. | |||
| ☞에6:13 | 그가 당한 모든 일을 자기 아내 세레스와 그의 모든 친구들에게 말하니, 그의 현자들과 그의 아내 세레스가 그에게 말하기를 "만일 모르드캐가 유대인의 씨라면, 당신이 그의 앞에서 패하기 시작하였으니, 그에 대하여 이기지 못하고 그의 앞에서 패하리이다." 하더라. And Haman told Zeresh his wife and all his friends every thing that had befallen him. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him, If Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews, before whom thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt not prevail against him, but shalt surely fall before him. | |||
| ☞에6:14 | 그들이 아직 하만과 말하고 있는데, 왕의 내시들이 와서 서둘러 하만을 데리고 에스더가 마련한 잔치에 데리고 가니라. And while they were yet talking with him, came the king's chamberlains, and hasted to bring Haman unto the banquet that Esther had prepared. | |||
