| ☞에5:1 | 셋째 날에 에스더가 왕후의 의복을 입고 왕궁의 맞은편에 있는 왕궁 안뜰에 섰는데, 왕은 궁의 대문을 마주보고 왕궁에서 왕의 보좌에 앉았더라. Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king's house, over against the king's house： and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house. | |||
| ☞에5:2 | 왕이 왕후 에스더가 뜰에 서 있는 것을 보았는데, 그녀가 왕의 목전에 은총을 입었으므로 왕이 자기 손에 든 금홀을 내미니, 에스더가 가까이 가 금홀의 끝을 만지니라. And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight： and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre. | |||
| ☞에5:3 | 왕이 그녀에게 말하기를 "왕후 에스더여, 그대가 무엇을 원하느냐? 그대의 소원이 무엇이냐? 왕국의 절반이라도 그대에게 주겠노라." 하니 Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom. | |||
| ☞에5:4 | 에스더가 대답하기를 "왕께서 좋게 여기시거든 내가 오늘 왕을 위하여 마련한 잔치에 왕께서 하만과 함께 오소서." 한지라 And Esther answered, If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him. | |||
| ☞에5:5 | 왕이 말하기를 "하만을 급히 불러 에스더가 말한 대로 하게 하라." 하고 왕과 하만이 에스더가 마련한 잔치에 갔더라. Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther hath said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared. | |||
| ☞에5:6 | 술 잔치에서 왕이 에스더에게 말하기를 "그대의 청이 무엇이냐? 그대에게 주리라. 그대의 소원이 무엇이냐? 그것이 왕국의 절반이더라도 시행하겠노라." 하니 And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee： and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed. | |||
| ☞에5:7 | 에스더가 대답하여 말하기를 "나의 청과 나의 소원은 이러하나이다. Then answered Esther, and said, My petition and my request is; | |||
| ☞에5:8 | 만일 내가 왕의 목전에서 은총을 입었다면, 또 왕께서 나의 청을 승낙하시어 나의 소원을 시행하시기를 기뻐하신다면, 내가 두 분을 위하여 마련할 잔치에 왕과 하만이 또 함께 나오소서. 내가 내일은 왕의 말씀하신 대로 행하리이다." 하더라. If I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do to morrow as the king hath said. | |||
| ☞에5:9 | 그리하여 하만이 그 날 즐겁고 기쁜 마음으로 나올 때에 왕의 성문에서 모르드캐를 보았는데, 그가 일어나지도 아니하고 자기를 위하여 몸을 움직이지도 아니하는지라, 그가 모르드캐에 대하여 분노로 가득 찼더라. Then went Haman forth that day joyful and with a glad heart： but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king's gate, that he stood not up, nor moved for him, he was full of indignation against Mordecai. | |||
| ☞에5:10 | 그러나 하만이 참고 집에 가서 보내어 그의 친구들과 그의 아내 세레스를 청하고 Nevertheless Haman refrained himself： and when he came home, he sent and called for his friends, and Zeresh his wife. | |||
| ☞에5:11 | 그들에게 자기 부의 영광과, 수많은 자녀와, 왕이 자기를 승격시킨 모든 일과, 그가 어떻게 그의 고관들과 신하들 위에 자기의 지위를 높였는지를 이야기하더라. And Haman told them of the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things wherein the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king. | |||
| ☞에5:12 | 또 하만이 말하기를 "실로 왕후 에스더가 마련한 잔치에 왕과 함께 들어간 사람은 나 외에는 없었으며, 내일도 내가 왕과 함께 에스더에게 초청을 받았노라. Haman said moreover, Yea, Esther the queen did let no man come in with the king unto the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and to morrow am I invited unto her also with the king. | |||
| ☞에5:13 | 그런데도 내가 왕의 성문에 앉아 있는 유대인 모르드캐를 보는 동안은 이 모든 것이 내게 아무 가치가 없도다." 하더라. Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king's gate. | |||
| ☞에5:14 | 그의 아내 세레스와 그의 모든 친구들이 그에게 말하기를 "오십 큐빗 높이로 교수대를 세우소서. 그리고 내일 왕에게 고하여 모르드캐를 그 위에 매달겠다고 하고 당신은 즐겁게 왕과 함께 잔치에 가소서." 하니 그 일이 하만을 즐겁게 한지라, 그가 교수대를 세우게 하니라. Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made of fifty cubits high, and to morrow speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon： then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made. | |||
